Can a girls’ weekend at The Painted Lady Inn with backstabbing sorority sisters ever end well? Add in a murder mystery game complete with costumes, a demanding diva, and a mysterious midnight visitor.
Strained relationships, lurkers in the dark, open windows in the dead of winter and séance gone wrong is only the beginning. Too bad, the help has gone south leaving Donna dependent on her overzealous mother and a questionable fan.
It’s enough to kill a person.

About the Author
M. K. Scott is the husband and wife writing team behind the cozy mystery series. Morgan K Wyatt is the general wordsmith, while her husband, Scott, is the grammar hammer and physics specialist. He uses his engineering skills to explain how fast a body falls when pushed over a cliff and various other felonious activities. The Internet and experts in the field provide forensic information, while the recipes and B and B details require a more hands on approach. The couple’s dog, Chance, is the inspiration behind Jasper, Donna’s dog. Murder Mansion is the first book in The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries. Overall, it is a fun series to create and read.

A group of sorority sisters descends upon The Painted Lady Inn for a weekend getaway. However, the fun weekend takes a wicked turn when the queen bee is found dead in her room the following morning. Incredibly, none of her 'sisters' appear to be overly upset by her sudden demise. The Medical Examiner reports that the deceased Inn guest expired from a lethal mix of prescription medication and it seemed to be an accident, but Donna, the owner of the inn, has her doubts. The victim's friends' lack of regret is suspicious and too many people profit from the death of the diva, especially those who were closest to her. When another one of the sorority members has a strange and dubious accident and nearly dies, the first tragedy appears even more suspect. Donna knows something sinister is lurking behind the facade of placid smiles and trivial conversations. Will Donna's suspicions prove to be correct? Is one of her guests a murderer? Death Pledges A Sorority (The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries Book 5: A Cozy Mystery with Recipes) by MK Scott is an entertaining cozy mystery with interesting characters and an intriguing plot. Although this is the fifth book in the series, it still is a good stand alone.
