This was my first Cheryl Holt book. It was ok but nothing to write home about. I was a little bit annoyed by all the supporting characters so it is hard to enjoy a book when you actually want to throttle a fictional person because they are pure evil. I don't think I will be reading another of her books...

The first chapter of this book is full of suspence and tension that hooks you right in. I love the dominating male and the damsel who just got caught with her hand in the cookie jar. It has serious hot love scenes and the plot is not as bad as the other book I read by Cheryl. Things do seem to work out a little to well for me though. But everyone loves a happy ending. Penelope is totally wicked and I feel for her but at the same time she did ask for it. Cheryl has a way with her wicked romance that keeps us ladies on our toes, she writes secret desires that a lot of people fancy but won't admit in public LOL!

This is an intriquing story of Olivia and Phllip where Olivia is to marry the Earl and comes upon an erotic book in the library, and is caught by Phillip and Phillip becomes her sexual tutor. Everyone seems to be having trysts around the mansion where the Earl ends with someone else, and Olivia and Phillip end up together. This keeps you guessing about that relationship to the very end.

This is an intriguing story where Phillip catches Olivia with the book on erotica in his father's library, and later becomes her teacher in regards to sex and they become attached. Meanwhile, everyone else is having Trysts and is in love with the person that he/she is not supposed to be in love with, but in the end, all around it ends happily. Read this book.

Set in 1813, England. I enjoyed the story very much, Ms Holt has done it again. You will not want to put it down, story is filled with passion, excitement, forbiddan love & regret. The story line with Helen & Jane is so touching. I myself was a little teary eyed. Isn't Penelope something else?

In 1813, though she detests the deception and that the target is a much older man, twenty-three years old Olivia Hopkins knows her extended family needs her to marry Edward, the Earl of Bristol. While in the Earl¿s library late at night, Olivia finds an erotica book that entices her until she is caught by Edward¿s wrong side of the sheet son Philip Paxton........................... As her stepmother pushes Olivia towards Edward, Olivia and Philip have an affair taking pages out of that reference tome she had found. Soon Olivia falls in love with Philip, but he sees her as a means of revenge for his sire hiding him from anyone who matters. However, Philip finds revenge is not as sweet as the love he feels for Olivia, but will the couple find a path to change their illicit affair into a warm lasting legal relationship?......................... Though the stepmother is too crazy to even heed anything she says, Regency romance fans will enjoy this erotic tale of forbidden love that feels and is right. The story line is fun to follow especially when the lead couple is hiding their tryst from everyone especially his father and her loony stepmother. Readers will enjoy the moment that Philip realizes that his love is DEEPER THAN DESIRE for vengeance. Cheryl Holt turns up the heat with this superior historical.............................
