Deleted: Jackson and Maggie by Tess Thompson

Jackson Waller has loved Maggie Keene since they were six years old, but their dueling dreams ultimately tore them apart. First love--true love--wasn't enough to overcome their individual desires to pursue dreams on opposite coasts. When Jackson learns of Maggie's tragic death on her way to college on the east coast, his heartbreak, compounded by grief, renews his focus on his own future. He vows to do nothing but work toward his goal of becoming a doctor, and maybe enjoy the companionship of his new college buddies, The Dogs.
Maggie Keene left Cliffside Bay with two things: a broken heart and her ambition. For twelve years she relentlessly pursues her dream of a musical theater career in New York City, but when she learns her father is dying, she returns home to find the truth about her family's ugly past. There, she discovers two things that will change everything: one, the bitter old man has spread a wild rumor that she has been dead for over a decade; and two, Doctor Jackson Waller is also back in Cliffside Bay--with his brand-new fiancée.
The second installment of The Cliffside Bay Series by bestselling author Tess Thompson follows the interwoven stories of five best friends, the beach community they love, and the women who captivate them. Prepare to get lost in a wave of small town charm, men you would love to take home to your mother, and smart, resilient heroines you wished lived next door.

About the Author

Like most of her characters, Tess Thompson hails from a small town and will always feel like a small town girl, despite the fact she’s lived in Seattle for over twenty-five years. She loves music and dancing, books and bubble baths, cooking and wine, movies and snuggling. She cries at sappy commercials and thinks kissing in the rain should be done whenever possible. Although she tries to act like a lady, there may or may not have been a few times in the last several years when she’s gotten slightly carried away watching the Seattle Seahawks play, but that could also just be a nasty rumor.

She currently lives in a suburb of Seattle, Washington with her brand new husband, the hero of her own love story, and their Brady Bunch clan of two sons, two daughters and five cats, all of whom keep her too busy, often confused, but always amazed. Yes, that’s four kids and five cats. Pray for her.

Not your typical 'coming home' story and very well written. Emotional with beautifully defined characters. Great series!

I've now read 2 of her books and have enjoyed both immensely . It's a pleasure to read a story not concentrated on sex. Instead they are REAL life situations dealt with tears and humor. Thank you !

For 12 years he mourned her death. She was the love of his life and after a horrible argument he lost her. Or so he though. She drove off leaving the life she had behind and when they cut her off she didn't look back. Until the call. The call that would jump start her heart again. Lies jealousy and a past that they didn't want to have revealed. This author does a wonderful job of adding layers upon layers and slowly unraveling them until the truth is revealed. After years of abuse from her father and a battered self esteem Maggie regains her back bone and her strength. I love all of the intrigue and twist that kept this story alive. The love of friends and community is what makes small town reads so heartwarming. This author writes a wonderful story with all of the feels and none of the details. If that's what you're looking for it's right here. This author writes stories that allow your imagination to sore and your heart to flutter. Her male characters are the sappy ones and the women they pursue are ready and able to receive and give the love they didn't know they had to share.

Enjoyed the first in the series, and this even more! Such a beautiful, touching, emotional roller coaster.

I read "Traded" first and couldn't wait to start "Deleted".

This is the ultimate second chances book. Multiple characters have the chance to live their dreams they thought wouldn’t happen, Darla, Zane, Jackson, Maggie (at least 3 times over)! If you like second chance romances this is the book for you. I loved learning a bit more about Jackson who was first introduced in Brody and Kara’s book, Traded. We get to learn about what truly happened with Maggie who was mentioned multiple times in Traded. Then we see what happens when Jackson and Maggie learn the truth and when Maggie confronts her father and Darla, her father’s wife. I can’t wait to read about the other Dogs, Zane, Kyle, and Lance and keep up with the other residents of Cliffside Bay! Reviewed by: Alexis B.

Make sure you have life support on standby, because this book is going to rip your heart out and stomp it into the ground before piecing it all back together again by the end. Maggie and Jackson were separated when life took them in different directions, but years later they're back in each other's orbits. When unimaginable secrets are revealed, they are forced to reexamine everything they thought they knew. This book has all the feels, and the writing style flowed so beautifully I hardly noticed the passage of time. I was completely enthralled in this book, completely shutting out the real world until I reached the beautiful end. Cliffside Bay is where I want to go on my next vacation. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Deleted was an interesting book. I've never read a book where the heroine was assumed dead but wasn't so when I read the blurb I wanted to know more. I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't to over the top. It flowed easy and kept me intrigued. Jackson was also a great character to read about. Yeah, he may not have been the smartest when it came to Sharon but he was an upstanding character and was willing to own up to his mistakes. His heart and brain knew what he wanted all along. I felt so bad for Maggie. First for having to suffer for the past 12 years (even though she could have done things to fix the issue I also understood where her head was after her hard past) and then for having to deal with everything that he had to once she came back. I'm glad that everyone welcomed her with open arms. She didn't deserve anything less than happiness. It was great getting a glimpse of the rest of the DOGS and their friends. Hopefully Zane's book will be next. I'd love to see him happy (especially after a few of his revelations in this book!).

In Cliffside Bay love runs as deeply as the secrets it's scenery hides. Thompson prides herself on making every tale a compelling canvas of emotion. Deleted is no exception. From young love to tragedy, Jackson and Maggie grab hold of a heart and wring out every memory, teardrop and hope encased within. What began in heartache went on to become an inspirational journey of second chances, survival and everlasting love. There is no escaping destiny and like Jackson and Maggie, Deleted has classic written all over it.
