Overview

Originally published by Dorchester Publishing, March 2007

After being dumped by her boyfriend and passed over for yet another promotion, Monica Gardner moves to New Orleans, determined to make a name for herself as the new attending ER physician at Methodist Memorial Hospital. As for men--she's through with them. But when given the chance to chair the hospital's annual charity banquet, Monica must elicit the help of gorgeous Ob-gyn Elijah Holmes.

Eli will do anything to thwart his matchmaking Mama's plan to reunite him with his high school girlfriend. So, when the sexy new ER doc asks for his help in planning this year's charity banquet, Eli devises the perfect scheme: He'll help put on the best banquet the hospital has ever seen, if Monica poses as his new girlfriend. But when Eli finds himself falling in love, he realizes convincing Monica of his true feelings may be his greatest delivery yet.

This book was BORING and repetitive. I thought it was going to be interesting since I'm a sucker for medical dramas, but no I waded through this book like slogging through cold molasses.

Written at a sixth grade level. Boring. No plot. A waste of my time and money.

I thought this was a cute story, though it did move a little slow. Once I got into it, I couldnt put it down - a good summer read. I was disappointed with the ending though, it seemed very brupt and left many questions unanswered. Overall, I did enjoy it.

All I can say is read the book, it was wonderful. There has been such a decline in tradition romance since the Zane's & Mary B's have come out. 'Not knocking them I love their work, I just enjoy tradition romance too' A star is about to rise in romance. Looking forward to more!

This is the type of book that leaves me wanting more! The characters are well drawn, interesting and the type of people I'd want as my friends in real life. I was able to see, feel and understand why Monica Gardner and Elijah Holmes fell in love with each other, and I had such a good time watching it happen. As a health care professional I found their world to be completely believable it's rare to find someone who isn't a doctor truly understand the crazy schedule and long hours that go with the job. The author did a pretty good job with the medical lingo, too! I won't go into the details of the story - the synopsis here does a better job than I could. But I do want to add that the location (post-Katrina New Orleans) was like another character in the story. The author's love for the city and its people is evident in every chapter. The only reason this book gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that it was over too quickly. I wanted to see more of Eli and Monica! Hopefully I will, when the other Holmes brothers get their own happily ever afters.

This book has two different stories entwined in it. Main one is two doctors needing to join together to solve their individual problems. Second is a patient and her husband having pregnancy and marriage issues. Interesting book you can't put down. joy943

First book by this author, insightful, intriguing and funny romance novel.

I liked this sweet romance but the ending was too abrupt and the grammar errors were endless (i.e., subject-verb agreements, using the word bare for bearing the pain, using adolescences for the plural for adolescent....). The author has a master's degree but needs a review of grammar or at least a decent proofreader.

Read this in just a few hours. 299 pages. I enjoyed this book a lot, I don't understand the 1 star comments??????, it was not boring, there was some repitition but nothing like some books I have read. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the abrupt ending & no epilogue. It is not a cliffhanger!!! GJRA
