Deliverance by Kristy Centeno is a paranormal romance book, that kept me on the edge of my seat from page one through the last sentence. Following the story of Tiger and Kristina, the bond between these two characters built on healing the past and love built from friendship. Tiger has never seen the outside world, and the world that has been created around him was built on nothing but pain and hatred, being caged by those intent on hurting him for crimes he didn't commit. Meeting Kristina, changed his perspective on people. She showed him that humans don't all cause pain, and she is the catalyst that helps him survive the outside world. Kristina is a genuinely kind person, who has a darker past filled with her own touched by tragedy, but she doesn't let her past weigh her down. The interactions between these two were so genuine and unique that I couldn't put this book down. I have journeyed out of my comfort reading zone with this book and I was not disappointed in the least. If you are wanting to try something a little different from your usual reading style Centeno is a great author to take that journey with you. If you are looking for a great story with unique characters, and an author that as a great writing style this is one that you need to add to your collection today!

It’s tough to review Deliverance without giving anything away in regards to the plot. Let’s start by saying that I loved it! The story is told from the dual POV of Tiger and Kristina. Tiger is an intriguing main character, a clever mix of a naive, almost gullible young man, and yet he can also be strong and determined. At the beginning of the story, we learn he’s not human, and that he’s locked up – and he’s never set foot outside his jail. But if he wants to save his peers and his own life, he needs to escape and find the one person who can help him achieve his mission. That person is Kristina, and soon enough, the two of them start falling for each other. The romance is interesting because Tiger, having grown up very sheltered, is very unlike other YA heroes (who tend to be over-confident and ‘cool’ rather than sweet). Tiger is just adorable, and very innocent, making him an unique character. The storytelling is excellent, and the author does an excellent job with the world building and crafting the characters. The interactions between Kristina and Tiger were very engaging. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

The main thing that drew me to this book was the mention of freedom, entrapment, and identity. And I certainly was not disappointed. The characters were really well-developed and I would be able to (and gladly) write out a detailed analysis for most of them, but let's just leave it at that for the sake of keeping the spoilers to a minimal. But really, just read it for the characters. It's worth it. Or you could read for the plot, with its great pacing and enough secrets and action to make sure you continue to read on. I once discussed with someone on Facebook about how romance in books should focus on something other than the appearances of both parties, then I started reading Deliverance , and I can't believe I'm saying this but, I like the romance. I really like the romance in this book. The romance was hindered by “her” distrust of “him”, and “him” having the mentality that “she” was just a means to an end. It certainly took awhile to build, but I loved every moment of it. Also, did I mention that “his” lack of knowledge about human customs makes him such a precious and polite cinnamon roll (but let's not forget that he's still pretty deadly)? I adored the fluffy moments so much I didn't even care when steam got into my eyes. As I was finishing the book, the thought that I may have just found my first five-star read of the year crossed my mind (ok granted I've only read like 20+ books so far for the year BUT THAT'S IRRELEVANT). So what hindered me from doing so? The writing. It was easy to understand but at times, it felt repetitive. I understand that throughout the journey, there may be some recurring thoughts that pop into the characters' head every now and then, but after reading paraphrased versions of the same thoughts like four or five times, it kinda gets boring.

Tiger has known nothing except the Radcliff Institute that he has been locked in for 25 years. But with the help of a mysterious prisoner, Castiel Tigers makes his escape. On the outside, he meets Kristina, a local farm girl that is just trying to do the right thing. But Tiger is still a stranger and his disconnection with human behaviors has Kristina questioning him. He is going to have to work hard to earn both Kristina and Rose’s trust. But that is not going to be easy with Gerard hot on Tiger’s heals. Gerard is bound and determined to catch Tiger no matter who gets in his way. This is a great story. Tiger has no idea about much beyond the institute. I do feel for the poor guy as he tries to navigate around people. But his interactions with Kristina, talk about melt my heart. He is just so sweet and enduring as he stumbles over himself trying to express his feelings for Kristina. Kristina is scared but she is such a strong person, she just has to find it in herself. They travel across the country trying to find someone that can help Tiger. The problem is he knows what she looks like but nothing beyond that. Not an easy quest with the bad guys knocking on your back door constantly. I really enjoyed this story. There is lots of action and a great plot. I have never read any of Kristy Centeno’s books before but I will definitely be checking them out. I received Deliverance from Reading Addiction Virtual Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.
