I loved this action packed thriller that is full of passion, starting over and kicking some tail. The author gives you a wonderful amazing read that hooks you from page one with the thrilling fast pace action packed read. Trace is trying to get over losing his twin he is having a hard time and just about lose it. He is a mess and needs to take a step back but he needs to be in action which helps him forget or at least deal with his lose. Marlena is one smart cookie who has a very evil hateful father you would like to shoot. Nothing has been the same since her mother died and nothing will ever be the same when the truth comes out. Trace and Marlena have a lot of the same issues trying to forget, overcome your past and loss. With a one night stand and Marlena sneaking out they think they will never see each other again. Neither can forget the amazing night of passion they shared. Faith has a way of bring you around face, to meet your past as well as make it a life or death mission. Jeffrey Kafer did a great job on narration the only trouble I had was he stopped for a little too long. I thought it was the end of the chapter or something was wrong with the audio. Then he would start talking again. I loved his rough and tough voice which really added to the narration. His character voices were outstanding. Mr. Kafer really puts emotion to his audios with deep rich male voices and lovely soft female ones. He gives just the right tones for each scene as he brings the story to life. I did not hear any background noise or any places where the audio volume was higher or lower than it was before. This narrator has a voice you could listen to all day, before I knew it the audio was over leaving me wanting more. I did listen to this in one setting I just could not put it down. I have never had so much fun mowing and cleaning as when I was listening to this audio. If a break was taken I could not tell it sounded like he did it all at one setting. I truly enjoyed this narrator as he really brought this story to life for me keeping me chucking, holding my breath as well as leaving my mouth hung open. I really am looking forward to listening to more from him. This is one author that pulls you in from the first page giving you passion and so much action you are left hanging on the edge to see what trouble they get into next. Ms. Harber put a lot of thought into the writing of this book giving you a story that could be straight out of our headlines. She gives you wonderful likable characters you are cheering on or shaking your head at, at times you will have to laugh at other feel very sorry for them. My heart really went out to both Trace and Marlena both have lost so much and still will be losing more. I had a few favorite parts in this story one was when Trace was talking to the young boys almost at the end of the story. That was the most touching heart pulling scene almost leaving you in tears. Another was when he was trying to get Marlena out and she put up one heck of a fight. The ending is amazing and will almost leave you in tears. Her father you would just like to hang him up and leave him there. This is one HOT steamy read from start to finish. There are a few twist you won’t see coming and a few that you have to laugh along with a few you would just like to hit something. This really was an outstanding read that I totally enjoyed. I am so looking forward to more from this author.

Definitely worth the read!! I do not usually give a Novella a 5 star rating but this was like a whole book packing punch and full of fast pace drama and action that keeps you reading. I have not read a Cristin Harber book that I did not like, I have read the entire Titan series and have never been disappointed. This new Delta series, even if Novellas will definitely be on my buy list. I was a huge KGI fan of Maya Banks but the last few books tanked and made me miss having a great action series and characters to love like family, but then I found the Titan Group by Cristin Harber and now the spin off Delta which brought me back to my "Favorites" shelf again and again! Trust me you will be glad after you read it.

3.5 "If anyone could make me want to be normal, it'd be you." Stars. Delta: Retribution is the first work of Cristin Harber's that I have read, and as novellas go it is pretty good. Lots of action, sexy-times and likeable characters. Trace and Marlena were both characters with their own personal demons, but for all that really likeable. After a chance meeting, and subsequent one night stand in Germany, neither of them expects to bump into the other again, No full names, no contact details, and hot-tailing it out of the room when the other is in the shower seem to make this agreement a certainty... Fate has other ideas and throws this couple back together in the most extreme of circumstances. "My name is Trace. I'm taking you home. Trust me, listen to me, and we both live. Got it?" As usual, my main complaint (and it is a good complaint), is that I wanted more, and thank all that is sparkly and fluffy, this is the beginning of a new series. I went a bit mad after finishing this and one-clicked the whole Titan series.... A person doesn't need food to live right! "Takes a tougher mother****** that that to kill me, Cinderella." Cristin has done it again! She is an excellent author. I have been waiting for this series and it did not disappoint! I would suggest reading  the Titan series first. It will give you a better understanding of some of these characters. This full of action, humor, and romance. I highly recommend.

I think this is the first Cristin Harber book I haven't been absolutely enthralled with. For me, I just didn't connect with the characters nor their journey to fall in love. It seemed more forced than in prior books. I also didn't find some of the plot particularly believable (Marlena's top secret job and how she got it). The story starts out well, with the one-night stand between Trace and Marlena. I thought it was going to be a great book, based on that, followed with how Trace got drafted into Delta Force for Titan. But it sort of unraveled for me after that. Oh, there were definitely moments of emotional growth for both characters (I admire how Marlena settled things with her jerk of a father, and Trace accepted a particular fact...which was partially ruined a short time later because of the events that take place right at the end - having to be deliberately obscure here to avoid spoilers). The plot, for the most part was solid, I just didn't really myself in the book. It's certainly not a hard-hitter like one of her earlier Titan books where Ms. Harber showed some pretty gritty and hard-knock events in graphic detail. I'm absolutely still a big fan. Just not a big fan of THIS book. Still, it makes for a decent opening in the new Delta Force series and I look forward to learning more about this uber-secret and ghost-like force under Titan's control. Super hot! Well balanced story. Didn't feel like a novella.
