Delta: Revenge by Cristin Harber

A Tortured Hero with a Heart of Gold Growing up on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Almeida has only his older sister to protect him. When she's sold to a human-trafficker, he vows to hunt down those responsible. Years later, Titan Group's Delta team finds him, tattooed and brawling, a vigilante protector with information they want. They take him in and train him, working him harder than a man should be driven, until he's a soldier harboring an obsession. Ready for revenge, Javier ghosts his way across the globe, tracking the men who took his sister and working elite private security jobs. Meets Sweet and Sassy Jilted at the altar, Sophia Cole turns the reception into a one-woman party. She's intent on devouring all the cake and champagne, so she can bask in the calories she's been avoiding. In the midst of the revelry, he walks in, the one man she can never ignore. Javier is her older brother's black ops teammate--an automatic Do Not Go There. But if there's one thing better than fondant and a buzz to ease the wounds of a cheating fiancé, it might be a one-night stand with a South American military man. It's a Game Changer Javier didn't expect to see Sophia again. He never thought he would even want to see her again. He shouldn't have touched her, but his mind won't stay away from her. Now, Sophia Cole is thousands of miles away from the safety of her parents' lavish estate and working alongside him in hell. She's a staffer at an Embassy, and he's there to keep them alive. There are bombs and bullets and blood-hungry enemies. And then she's taken. Gone. Just like his sister. But so much worse.

There were moments when I got goosebumps. Moments where you just melt with these characters, where you just fall in love with this story. Javier is a man that has been set on revenge for his sister. He joined the Delta Team knowing that eventually he would have that. He never thought he would have feelings for a woman beyond the one night stand. Never sleeping in the same bed with one. That is until Sophia came a long. The sister of one of his Teammates. I really loved both Javier and Sophia. They really got each other and were there at the right moment. Harber's writing continues to get better and better. This just drew me in. I loved the danger, the action, the sweet moments between these two. I can't help but want more of Javier and Sophia. This is truly a great romance. I can't wait to see what else Harber has in store....Lissa

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that I just could not put down. Don’t get me wrong…I’ve read some good books. Books I’ve enjoyed. But a book that made me want to stay up all night to finish it? To keep telling myself ‘end of the chapter’? It’s been a while. Cristin Harbor and the men of Titan to the rescue! Delta: Revenge is full of hot, hawt sex; strong characters; and adrenaline fueled, heart-thumping action. If you’ve read my reviews before, you know I don’t rehash the plot. There’s a two main reasons for that - 1. You can read the damn blurb for yourself; and 2. I don’t want to give away any main plot points and possibly spoilers. This is one of those times I want to though, because I want to break each scene down and tell you want I loved about each one. So instead, let’s focus on the characters. Javier is tortured. Growing up in the slums, fighting for money, trying to find and punish the criminals who trafficked his sister, he has a lot of issues. And Cristin just keeps on torturing him. It may make me evil, but I loved it. As hot and sexy as Javier is, Sophie was, by far, my favorite. We’re introduced to Sophie on the day of her non-wedding, questioning everything she’s about to do. He’s not really a primary character in the book, but Cristin sums up the fiance perfectly in one short phrase. “Adequate sex and a good soufflé" That may do it for some, but not Sophie. She’s not the kind of girl who settles for adequate sex. She’s the kind of woman that gets into situations that require a “shit’s-gone-down-now-do-this-manual.” She wants passion and a guy who’s going to make her swoon. And boy does she find it in Javier. So you get it, right? Delta: Revenge is a great read. Don’t worry about it being book two of a new series—a spin-off of her Titan series—it can be read as a stand-alone. If you like action and steamy, sexy couples, you need this book in your life.

4.5 Stars Once again, Cristin Harber has created a world where passion, anger, and revenge can all exist within a very intriguing and volatile love story. The main characters are very flawed and one of them seems to be on a collision course with death until he finds his anchor. I have read multiple books in the Titan/Delta series and would have to say that Delta: Revenge may have guys with guns but it seems to focus more heavily on the romance. It’s not that I’m complaining so much as I am comparing the previous books. Delta: Revenge focus on Brazilian Brawler Javier Almeida and Human Rights Activist Sophia Cole. Although they share a mutual connection through Sophia’s brother Colin, Javier and Sophia don’t really know each other that well. Sophia knows that Javier is part of a Blackwater type military unit called Delta which is part of a larger operation called Titan. Javier knows much less about Sophia. He believes that she is a socialite. They end up getting intimate on Sophia’s wedding day after she finds out that her not-so-future husband has been having an affair with the Maid of Honor. Their intimacy goes far beyond the physical and they can’t stop thinking about each other. This poses some life-altering problems for Javier because until his connection with Sophia, his only agenda was to exact revenge on the Primeiro Comando cartel that bought his older sister from his father while they were both very young. Eventually, Sophia ends up in Honduras working to free another woman from her powerful and corrupt husband while gaining cartel intelligence. A series of unfortunate events, place Sophia in danger and she is fortunate that Javier and his Delta team just so happen to be in the area to assist. At some point, Sophia’s perils force Javier to decide if revenge is really as important to him as it was before he met her. I truly enjoyed Delta: Revenge. There are a few suspenseful situations that will clearly have you entertained. There’s also a twist or two that you just won’t see coming. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. Javier and Sophia really burn down the house with their passionate relationship. The sex scenes lean toward the erotic so be prepared to blush. I would have loved more guns and ammo related action but I still felt that the book was complete. **Received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.**

This is the 2nd book in the Delta series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding: I recommend reading both the Titan series and the 1st Delta series book beforehand. This will avoid unnecessary spoilers for the reader. Javier and Sophie know one another through her brother, who works with Javier. At her wedding, she gets rid of the man who cheated on her and sets her sights elsewhere. Then Javier and Sophie see one another again in Honduras. Sophie has had 6 months to get over the wedding that wasn't. She is now hot for Javier and he seems hot for her too. The sparks are flying so much everyone feels them in the room. This is such an amazing story! The heat is turned up nice and hot. The characters have really good banter. The pace goes along steady and fast. This is a great time to be a DELTA and TITAN fan! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.
