About the Author

I have always been a story-teller. As a child, I got into a lot of trouble for "making things up." Now, I get rewarded for making things up. I love being able create heroes and heroines that people can relate to--even crazy cat ladies, as I did with CATASTROPHE, my first publication with The Wild Rose Press (WRP). I've been writing fiction since I was in middle school and have the rejection slips to prove it. In high school, I even submitted a script to "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." on yellow-lined paper in pencil. Not surprisingly, that was rejected, too.

??After I graduated with a BA in Psychology and no job, I realized my dreams of working in the attic writing great prose would have to take a back seat to the simple pleasures of eating, drinking, and having a roof over my head. Fast forward a few decades, and I had a career path that would make all but the kindest say, "What were you thinking?" After working in health care delivery for years, I became a researcher, then an academic. I had it all-- a terrific, supportive husband, an amazing son, and a wonderful job. But that itch to write (some call it obsession), kept beckoning me to "come on back" to writing fiction. In the summer of 2004, I spent one whole month away from Baltimore in Florida doing nothing but writing fiction. The resulting effort was the first of many drafts of my first novel, which is now hidden away in a deep, dark drawer. The good news is that first novel taught me what not to do, and my second novel was so much better--because I had made all those mistakes in the first one. ??

As an academic, I published numerous non-fiction articles and two textbooks, INTRODUCTION TO HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT and CAREER OPPORTUNITIES in HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT: PERSPECTIVES FROM THE FIELD. However, I found the road to publication in fiction to be much harder. After I published some short stories in horror and mystery, my friend, Rosemary Ellen Guiley recommended that I should join the Maryland Romance Writers (MRW) I joined in 2005 and found friendship, support and the opportunity to develop as an author with MRW and the Romance Writers of America(RWA) Since romance has over a dozen sub-genres, I was able to turn my fascination with horror and mystery into paranormal romance and romantic suspense. I was home. ??

Book Review Blog: Izzy is the tough, sexy Latino bad girl of every kinky man's dreams! Like the title suggests, she is a desirable beauty full of deceit. This is a woman who knows what she wants and won't think twice about manipulating people into doing her dirty work for her. Even so, Sean, her boy toy, knows there's more to this sex goddess than a hot body and devil's persona. She's got a softer side, and he's going to bring it out. This is an erotic telling of a bad girl's transformation into her true potential. I adore Izzy at the start of the story, but by the end I think it's safe to say I fell in love with her more vulnerable, not quite as hot headed self. She's an excellent main character and a role model for those of us perhaps not fortune enough to have that white picket fence upbringing. As for the writing style, this is a fast read given the well described setting and unraveling drama. I would definitely watch a soap opera about these characters, just saying! It's got heat, passion, and a whole lot of drama!

Sarah Wright-Rosen continues to find herself in dire circumstances in Desire and Deception. The newlyweds sizzle the pages during their honeymoon, while the murder and mystery begins close by. This tale twists and turns and keeps the reader engaged while the good girl and the bad girl find that not everything is so black and white. There are shades of gray. Good girls can be bad and bad girls can have a change of heart. This story reminds me of a delicate macramé piece. Each strand of the story is carefully woven and knotted together to form a beautiful piece of art. The well crafted story lines wrap around and lead the reader in a fantastic romantic thriller that you don’t want to put down.

SMOKIN' HOT! Book: Desire and Deception Author: Sharon Buchbinder Genre: Erotic Romance, Erotic Romantic Suspense, Erotic Romantic Thriller Length: Novel There is so much happening in DESIRE AND DECEPTION by SHARON BUCHBINDER that I feel I could write a review that is five pages long. The momentum just keeps building and building throughout the book. The story line keeps getting more and more complex as you go. If you like your sex scenes smokin' hot, your suspense edge of your seat, and your thrillers fast paced, this is a book you will thoroughly enjoy. Sarah Wright-Rosen is a professional woman working at the local college. What I liked so much about Sarah is the growth this character went through in the book. She started out a little wimpy but grew into a strong, fierce woman that when faced in a dangerous situation, stood her ground and even pulled her gun when needed. I had a problem with Dan, Sarah's husband. I'm still not sure I like him very much. He is a busy, good looking doctor that seemed to me, selfish and demanding when it came to his opinions and needs. Through a series of events in the book that made me want to kick his butt, he was forced to back down from some of his opinions and support his wife and the remarkable circumstances she found herself in or possibly lose her. Then we have Izzy, the princess of a Mexican crime boss. What a great character! She works as a professor at the college Sarah works at, and they are best friends. Polar opposites really do attract. Sarah, being such a nice person, Izzy is her exact opposite. She is spoiled and deadly. As you get further into this story, you start to learn of the deplorable acts perpetrated against Izzy as a child and the reader gets some insight into why she is the person she is and why she likes her sex rough and under her control. I really enjoyed the interaction between these characters because I felt, through Ms. Buchbinder's writing, Izzy was in some way reaching out to Sarah to get a little normalcy. I truly believe that although Izzy would make fun of Sarah, she also felt drawn to her because she knew Sarah was the one person that she could count on for anything. I must say that one of my favorite characters in this book was Dan's mother, Gert. We met this eccentric older woman a couple of times. She is a bright humorous spot in this book that takes some very dark turns. I went into this book blind. I had not read any reviews because I like the book to unfold for me as I read it. I am totally blown away with the direction this book took. Without giving any of the plot away, I must say that never in my wildest dreams would I have thought an erotic book would have such an interesting intricate plot and be so full of twists and turns. This was a really great read!

"Turn up the air conditioner before you sit down to read DESIRE AND DECEPTION because it's hot, hot, hot! The drama is non-stop, the plot is unpredicatable and fun, and the characters are smart, realistic and dangerously brave. A fast-paced, steamy read that will leave you asking when Sharon Buchbinder's next book will be available." Joya Fields
