Desperate Housewives of Olympus by Saranna DeWylde

A riotous romp through Olympus with goddesses for the 21st century. When a new goddess moves to Ambrosia Lane, Hera decides she's finally had enough of her philandering husband. She offers herself and the crown of gods to Hades. Hades doesn't want the crown, but he'll take Hera. (Often and twice on Sunday.) He's a heartless bastard--having had Aphrodite rip it out so he'd stop loving Persephone after he set her free. Persephone is scheming to get back to Tartarus with the aid of Thanatos, who trips on his leather trench coat and falls in love with her. Thanatos' titan mother, Nyx thinks she's past all the drama until she turns up pregnant. Demeter has secrets of her own and the new goddess Abstinence lands in a steaming centaur pile when she falls for the King of the Gods himself whose own dark needs could tear them apart. Come along for the ride as these goddesses take control of their Fate (or so they think) and find their Happily Ever Afters.

I love my husband, who is having an affair with the woman across the street, who really wants the man at the end of the block, who just happens to be capturing the attention of the new girl on the block. You want my husband and I want your boobs so can we trade? This sounds like any neighborhood or reality show but this one involves the greatest Gods ever written about including Zeus. What if just like the rest of us mortals this group had weaknesses, flaws, and an excessive amount of free time? Bet they would get into as much trouble as the group living on the lane around the corner? This is a good, quick story that gets to the facts, explains the character's involved and shows how fast a friend becomes an enemy. I felt this story was based on the fiction of reality television and the secrets being spilled, betrayal showing its ugly head, and the heartless coming to life. You have to hope that your neighbors are not quite this deceitful but regardless there is the fact that every mother with a son will scream "my son is dating who?" Hades to Hera reminding her of their first encounter "you were asleep beneath the stars, with daydreams on your lips and moonbeams on your brow". Seriously who knew the devil was such a romantic.

This was a recommendation from a few of my favorite authors, Michele Bardsley and Dakota Cassidy, and I'm still thanking them! I literally couldn't put it down and read it by the pool one afternoon. Saranna took my beloved Greek Mythology and dragged it kicking (in Prada pumps) and screaming into present day suburbia. From gossiping at the local beauty spa to pizza at the neighborhood parlor, these Gods and Goddesses are hilariously lecherous and fabulously catty! You'll be checking the real estate listings for property on Ambrosia Lane.

Saranna weaved a story love, infedelity, misguided intentions and happily ever after. Anyone who loves humor, Greek mythology and a steamy romance must read this book.

Reading this reminded me of a much more entertaining version of Desprate Housewives. It's a hodgepodge of who is sleeping with who, all with vast amounts of humor interlaced throughout. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who enjoys humorous chick lit, or if you just need a good laugh.

This is a totally fun new take on the lives of the Greek Gods. When you start the book you're not quite sure where things are going but the ride is fun. Definately a must read for fans of Greek mythology. It will entertain your brain. By the end I was rooting for Hades and wanting to spank Zeus (cause if you don't have honesty in a marriage what else is there...especially if the sex is missing).

Your favorite goddesses like you've never seen them before! Saranna DeWylde constructs an engaging tale full of humor and heartache, snark and shake-ups, and more than a little spice. Couldn't put it down!

The title, story line, & the plot were excellent. The characters were well developed and the line between love and hate was very fine as it should be. It brought all the other emotions and feelings like humor and humility out like a great story should. The vocabulary was there for us ebook junkies to find exact definitions and correct pronuncation for words we know through context, but maybe never used or spoke regularly. It did need some editing and some conversations were hard to follow. When you get an answer like yes after a 4 page internal monologue, i a few times had to go back to see what the question actually was. Other than those editing issues, which may be addressed when the book isn't a free read, the imagination and creativity of this author is something i want more of.

First I want to say that I love Greek Mythology and I especially love it in my romance! Im not an expert by far but I do enjoy it. I've waited a long time to read this book and I was not disappointed. It was fantastic. I laughed a lot, cried and got really mad at the characters. This book was surprisingly an emotional roller coaster and I did not expect it to get so serious.  Hera Abstinence Persephone Nyx Demeter This is a story about 5 Goddess on Ambrosia Lane and told from their point of view. Hera is the experienced and manipulative Goddess. Abstinence is the new Goddess on the block who is innocent but wise. Persephone is the spoiled Godling who's trying to find herself and stand on her own. Nyx is the BFF Goddess you can talk to about anything. Demeter is the bitter Goddess who blames everyone else for her misery.  Throw some hot Gods into the mix and you've got yourself a recipe for steamy sex scenes, good humor and a downright fabulous story. I have to be honest and say that I did not like Hera through out most of the book. My girl Kay Dirty Girls' Good Books’ absolutely loved her but I just wanted to punch her in the throat. Hera is one of those characters you love to hate. Or, I love to hate.  I loved the few references to Kansas and Missouri. It's always nice to hear your hometown mentioned in books. It doesn't happen very often since I'm right in the middle of the US. Believe it or not but Kansas and Missouri just aren't that exotic.  Overall, I loved it. The sex was good and didn't overshadow the story. The humor was great and I had some real laugh out loud moments. The characters have depth and emotion that will knock you off your rocker. And finally the story is fantastic and will keep you guessing. DeWylde has a new fan!

This is the BEST book. I was immediately sucked into the world of Ambrosia Lane where Zeus is stepping out on Hera, Hades mourns the loss of Persephone and Death is as sexy as they come! Follow five goddess as they go about their angst-filled lives and try to get what every woman wants, her own Happily Ever After.

The book I wanted was $.99 but, when I hit confirm, it changed covers & charged $6.99! I am not sure why it did this, but I am not happy. But this is not the author's fault, who did write a really good book. I would rate it 5 for the book, but a purchase screw up, not cool.
