I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 'Desperate Match' by Lynne Silver is book five in the "Coded for Love Book " series. This is the story of Jill Thompson and Rowan Blacker. This is a standalone book but it does reference some of the other books. Jill has been married to her abusive husband for about six years. Jill starts to work out a plan to get away from him by joining 'The Program' of elite soldiers who were built generically to be strong soldiers. If Jill DNA match with one of the soldiers she would be his mate. Rowan has been with the program for about a year. Rowan has never really felt like he was a part of the team / nor fit in with the team. So decided to join the group of men looking for the DNA / life mate partner. Rowan does have an issue with his arm being missing and when he first meets Jill he thinks she was taken back by it. This had a really emotional story of abusiveness, disability overcoming and just falling in love. Great Story.

This is the 5th book in the series but my second book I have read in the series. I did like book 4 better, but this book had a heroine, Jill, that came from an abusive home, so I understand why the story was a bit slower. The author needed to show how Rowan helped Jill to heal before they could truly build their relationship as a couple. The other unique part of this story was that Rowan, an enhanced soldier, was born with a birth defect so he had his own issues he was dealing with. Having so many books in the series, I thought it was a great way for the author to make this story stand out compared to the other. I also liked how even though this book is focused on Rowan and Jill, you still get to see the other couples and supporting characters evolve in each installment. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rowan is the newest member of the program, a group of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility and intellect. He wants a match but it unsure anyone will want him because he is missing an arm. Jill decides to enter her name in for a match as a way to escape her abusive husband. Rowan knows that Jill is turned off when she see he is missing an arm but knows he must protect her from her abusive husband. Unfortunately Jill’s husband won’t go away quietly. Great read. This is a fast paced story with plenty of drama and suspense. I lived the characters. Rowan and Jill were really good for each other. I loved it.

Jill was late getting home, her husband Jack of six years was home before her.Jill wasn’t sure how things would go . Jill had been at the library to set up an email address. Even though Jack taunted her and called her college girl she had never went to college she had the grades but married him right after high school. Now in a desperate attempt to be free of Jack, Jill used the computer at the library to sign up for a program that had to do with super soldiers and finding their match through DNA testing. . Jill prayed she would be chosen , only three weeks to wait then she could get away permanently from the abusive man she had married. Rowan was already part of the program and went to Shep asking to be put in for finding Rowan a match. Then Rowan was notified his match was already on campus a little ahead of time but she was there. Rowan was born with only one full arm. He had lived with that for thirty years but when Jill first met him he had seen the look in her eyes. I loved this story it was great. It was awesome of Rowan to see how desperate Jill was and decide to fight for her to be able to stay there and not have to leave the compound. I liked that Rowan got to Jack and let him know what it felt like to be powerless . There was a lot of pluses story. I also love how Jill grew in self confidence and toke on Jack on tv and started to heal from her time with him. Just was a good read all around, enhanced human soldiers, a disability, a program domestic violence, desperation, understanding, personal growth, true love, friendship and a lot more. I loved the characters especially Jill and Rowan and all the ups and downs they went through. Except of course didn’t like Jack or the hate groups. I highly recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Title: Desperate Match - Coded for Love 5 Author: Lynne Silver Published: 5-2-2016 Publisher: Beyond The Page Publishing Pages: Unknown Genre: Erotic Romance Sub Genre: Military; Suspense; Desperate ISBN: 9781940846866 ASIN: B01F28BVCU Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 4 1/2 Stars . The Program: an organization of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility, and intellect. These men put their lives on the line to execute the government’s most dangerous missions. Rowan Blacker is the newest member to the program, which he found out about recently when his brother Adam visited him after a lengthy absence. Jill Thompson has planned for months how to escape her abusive and controlling husband Jack. She signed up to be matched to a soldier in the Program. When she shows up at the front gate with the clothes on her back and a few odds and ends stuffed into a small backpack she is shown to a room and told to wait. She has to make this work. If Jack finds her she knows he will kill her this time. Rowan walks into the room after being told his match is there. Surprised he looks over the pale, desperate woman sitting on the couch. He can see the abhorrent look on her face when she sees his missing arm and know match or not this will not work at prepares to leave. Jill seeing her safety net walking out the door lunges for Rowan. When Rowan catches sight of her bruised back and side Rowan is sickened that a man could do such a thing to one as fragile as Jill and offers a way to stay. Pretend to be his match, get her divorce and have a chance to start a new life. Things begin to get more complicated when the media are convinced that Jill has been kidnapped and brainwashed by the members of the Program to be used as breeding stock. Will she have to stand alone against the government, media and Jack? Can Rowan save the woman he has begun to love or will she run? My rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

"A way out" This is remarkable!. The story line is amazing!. The characters are awesome!. Jill is an abused wife. Then one day she see's a news report about a military program called "The Program' the program was looking for women to be matches for their genetically enhanced soldiers. Jill see's this as a way out!. She knows she has to go for it. Jill had lived to long with her husband Jacks abuse. By all the tests the program run's Jill is the perfect match for Rowan. Rowan Blacker is one of the genetically enhanced soldiers. Only Rowan has one defect he has only one arm. When Jill and Rowan meet things do not go so well. Jill tells him her story and Rowan is such a sweetheart he helps her even though he does not know if they are a match. Are Rowan and Jill match's ? Can Rowan protect Jill from her Abusive husband Jack? Can the program help her get away from Jack for good? . This book is incredible! . Lynne Silver is a remarkable writer and I enjoyed reading this book a lot!

Truly a unique story. I really enjoyed this book. The idea of the Program with enhanced soldiers was similar to something like Robocop when I started thinking about it. Then with Jill being an abused wife trying to escape from her husband, I wasn't sure if this would end up being cheesy. Once we met Rowan and he was such a genuinely sweet man that wanted to help her, I couldn't stop reading. I was enthralled in the story and the love that developed. I found it a very warming and passionate read. ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars Desperate Match by Lynne Silver is the fifth book in her Coded For Love series. I felt a little out of my element when I realized this was the fifth book in a series, but found that it wasn't a hinderance to have NOT read the previous books. I'm sure it's better to have read the previous books, but it wasn't a hinderance. The plot was very different from anything I've read before. An abused wife secretly volunteers to be a mate for a genetically engineered soldier. Except genetically engineered soldier has a birth defect that freaks her out at first. Of course, the abusive husband she left behind is not happy with her leaving either. Lots of romance, and just enough drama to keep it interesting. I would definitely enjoy reading more from this author and perhaps starting the series in the right order.

Lynne Silver's Coded for Love series continues with this intense read that deals with two scarred souls who are told they're perfect for each other but must discover that for themselves. Whereas the previous installments dug deep into The Program itself and the evil machinations of traitorous villains, this one takes us on a more personal journey where love helps heal old hurts and makes them stronger than they both ever knew. Jill suffered bruises, unrelenting fear, and a burying of her self-confidence at the hands of her abusive husband until the day she decides to leave him before he kills her. Her escape plan has her hiding out on the campus of The Program where she's surrounded by genetically altered soldiers who can keep her safe. She's the genetic match to a soldier newly installed in The Program who has issues of his home but is kindhearted enough to want to keep her safe. Her time with him sees her flourishing under his care and attention. She slowly regains her self-esteem and gains confidence in taking care of herself through the support of individuals seen as abominations. Rowan grew up on the run because of one man's manipulations. He always felt out of place because of his deformed arm and felt overly sheltered because of his protective brother. He's a bit touchy about how people perceive him and his disability and he needed to be Jill's protector to regain his own self-esteem. He's extremely charming though and willing to take things slow with Jill which made him even more of her hero. I enjoyed his humor and how he used it to defuse tense situations. As a disabled person myself, I found his disability dealt with in a believable and positive way which had me fully immersed in his outcome. Jill and Rowan's relationship evolved slowly as it definitely wasn't love at first sight. They had to become friends and confidants before morphing into an intensely sensual life-altering connection. I enjoyed being reintroduced to previous couples as it leant a sense of family to the story which showed these enhanced soldiers as human. Amongst these positive aspects comes the negativity of Jill's husband who was truly vile and took every opportunity to hurt her and his connection to the crazed religious group looking to infiltrate The Program left me rooting for his, and the religious group's, downfall. I also found Doctor Wise extremely unsettling in his discrimination toward's Rowan's deformity and leaves me questioning his loyalty from this moment on. From start to finish I found myself drawn to this couple and their imperfections which bound them together perfectly. This series continues to entertain and I look forward to the next installment and the continuing uncertainty of the enhanced soldier's futures.

I've followed this series from the beginning. I love these characters. Hopefully there will be more books coming from this series in the future. Congrats on the self publish. Well done. I really enjoyed reading this book. Rowan and Jill are a perfect match not just because of their DNA. They're great together because the both have handicaps that people believe define them including each other. They both learn that the other has learned to overcome their supposed flaw. They both learn how to navigate the bumps and bruises of a new relationship like any other couple. Because love makes fools and heros out of all of us.
