Destined but Didn't Know It: A MEMOIR - A personal account of trusting in God, steering clear of the observable
"Destined but Didn't Know It" offers a glimpse into the life of Renee Bennett, a girl raised by a single mother as the third oldest of four sisters. Observant and quiet, Renee developed a passion for hair styling at age 9, aspiring to become a hairstylist and salon owner by age 12. Despite her absent father, Renee admired his life but struggled with her identity as a result. Raised in the church, Renee found solace there, though she didn't always grasp the word of God initially. At 16, Renee became pregnant but chose to graduate with her class against her mother's advice to drop out and work instead. After many disagreements with her mother, Renee was given permission to move out at 17, and she lived what was believed to be her "best life"; although it wasn't. Experimenting with drugs, hanging out in nightclubs all while being convicted of her lifestyle choices lasted for about 9 years until her spiritual awakening at 28. Even after devoting her life to Christ, Renee's journey was marked by many challenges, particularly when her son faced mental health issues. But this was necessary in order for the call of God on her life to become realized. Through it all, Renee witnessed the supernatural workings of the Holy Spirit, realizing that what was intended for evil was transformed for her good. "Destined but Didn't Know It" serves as a testament to faith, offering hope and encouragement to trust in God even in the midst of uncertainty. To know that only He knows the ending of a thing from the beginning and that His plan and purpose for our life is better than any plan we can create for ourselves.

About the Author

Renee Bennett is a Christian author, Bible teacher, mentor and intercessor. After having a life-altering encounter with her son dealing with bouts of mental illness, God called her to ministry. An intercessor was born and Renee has been able to see the glory of God since these encounters. She has been compelled to use her speaking and teaching gifts to share the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ and because of the finished work of the cross, we are victorious!

She is the author of Destined but Didn't Know It. A memoir detailing the journey of a church girl, who became pregnant by 16, experimented with drugs and through it all, God still had a preordained destiny for her life.

Renee is the founder of the Choose Joy Women's Retreat where women gather for a weekend of restoration, refreshing and renewal. She serves in her local church where she is a licensed minister.

At home she is the wife to John, mom to Antonio, LaDarius and Londyn and a proud G-Mama to her granddaughter.
