This is an incredibly moving and captivating novel, and it has something for everyone: romance, high school drama, alienation, family values, faith, and important social themes. As a 6th grade teacher, this book is perfect for the pre-teen/ young adult audience, and it is one of the most popular books at my school. Chocolate Princess is a fantastic read, and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Destini the Chocolate Princess addresses the real issues that plague our society as African-Americans, both youth and adults in the church and abroad. I love this book. It made me laugh and cry. I stayed up late trying to read as much as I could. It was hard to put it down. I wish I could find more books that reads like this. Love Stephan! Would like to meet someone like him. This book shows that when you have someone in your life that cares about you (Destini's adoptive parents), it makes all the difference in the world.
