It was just another dinner party until Alexandra Moreton, a ravishing auburn-haired beauty, shows up. Deverell Bromfield doesn't recognize her as the spindly legged redhead with the flyaway hair he'd known as a youth. He hasn't trusted women since Ariadne threw him over for a viscount. Can he set that aside to pursue the delightful, unpredictable Alexi?
At last convinced she truly loves him, he wants to marry her, but a scandal rocks his family. His brother, Nat, is accused of murder. Alexi's father forbids the match. Deverell searches for Nat to assure himself the boy is safe. He finds him in the back streets of London, working in a warehouse. Determined to save him and win back Alexi, Deverell sets out to find the real murderer only to discover the evidence points to Alexi's brother, Lucian. She is infuriated by his pursuit of her brother.
The enticing Ariadne, now widowed, reenters his life with the information he needs to prove the real murderer's guilt. Will she lure him back into her arms? Deverell is on the horns of a dilemma.

About the Author
Kaye Calkins has been an avid reader all her life and has written hundreds of stories in her head. The first time she put fingers to the keyboard to write a novel was at an age when most people retire. The joy of putting the story onto paper was so great, she kept writing. When she and her husband, Merle, moved to Missouri, the Ozarks Romance Authors group and conferences became her encouragement and education. Aside from writing, Kaye keeps busy with family, church, music, reading, and friends.
Deverell's Dilemma is Kaye's first novel for AVALON.

A richly layered trip in time to Regency England. Hero to die for and a love story that will stay with you far beyond the book.
I'm super picky about my historicals, but I have to say, this author rocks! Her research is spot on, the story is engaging and well-paced, the characters are real and emotional and multi-faceted. It's the kind of story that just grabs you and doesn't let go. I loved it! Can't wait to read more of this author's work!
