Devils and Details by Devon Monk

Caught between the devil and the deep blue sea...

Police Chief Delaney Reed is good at keeping secrets for the beach town of Ordinary Oregon–just ask the vacationing gods or supernatural creatures who live there.

But with the first annual Cake and Skate fundraiser coming up, the only secret Delaney really wants to know is how to stop the unseasonable rain storms. When all the god powers are stolen, a vampire is murdered, and her childhood crush turns out to be keeping deadly secrets of his own, rainy days are the least of her worries.

Hunting a murderer, outsmarting a know-it-all god, and uncovering an ancient vampire's terrifying past isn't how she planned to spend her summer. But then again, neither is falling back in love with the one man she should never trust.

Super enjoyable series that made me chuckle and cheer. Love the characters and the creative use of gods and every other type of creature you can think of. Definately a much needed and refreshing twist on all things paranormal. You will not be disappointed .

Completely new type of fiction. Like the new spin and the mystery of the Ordinary Magic books by Devon Monk. Have read this one and the first but looking forward to the third.

Okay, so I don't love books that have no ending/cliffhanger ending. I almost didn't read this second book because I saw it had one. Still... it was a really good book. I loved both of them in this series so far. LOL funny in parts. I love the characters, and the story line. Can't wait for the next.

I love this series, it's very original with a fun twist to each plot. Strong crime fighting characters. I can't wait for the next book.

I like this series a lot. It's fun, quirky and has just the right amount of mystery and thrills. The sisters are great and I'm envious of how cool their powers and jobs are....even if they are a bit terrifying at times. I'm glad Ryder and Laney have finally gotten together...even though I have a feeling there will not be a lot of smooth sailing for them. I agree with the other reviewer that I also didn't like the cliffhanger...since its many more months till we find out what happened to Ben and if Jame and he will be back to being the cutest sweetest couple in Ordinary.

Different concept and great characters. The one thing I didn't like was the cliff hanger ending. That would be okay if the next book was coming out shortly but we have to wait until next year.
