About the Author

Lars Emmerich is an author, entrepreneur, investor, athlete, musician, and retired fighter pilot. He has lived in Asia, Europe, and various spots in North America. He currently resides with his family in Colorado and Virginia.

He writes edgy fiction. He's probably on the NSA watch list. He buys guns, gold, and real estate. He still flies airplanes, but not the fast ones.

He likes it when the good guys are a little bad and the villains make you question your beliefs. Like Sam, the heroine in his novels, Lars has a foul mouth, a big heart, and a caustic sense of humor. He doesn't watch the news.

This author is fairly new to me but I absolutely love his writing style. He takes you right into the thick of things. Great series

Slow, plodding, depressing, violent story. The protagonist barely appears throughout the beginning of the novel - instead, we are treated to corrupt, violent character after character, murders, backstabbing, and torture (yes, there is a disgusting torture scene that is completely gratuitous). There isn't even anyone to root for. Even the protagonist - when she does appear - is violent and shallow. No one in the book has any ethics. I put it down more often than I picked it up to read it. Oh, and editors - Falls Church is in Virginia, not Maryland. At least get the locations right! I am deleting this off my Nook, and am really glad I didn't pay anything for it.

This is such an exciting, well crafted, fast paced book. Characters are well developed and colorful. Sam Jameson and her boyfriend Brock will keep you turning the pages and you won't want to put the book down. The book is full of unexpected twists and turns and it's difficult to determine who the good guys are! Wow!
