Overview

Dex (Great Wolves Motorcycle Club, #1) by Jayne Blue

Meet the sexy, dangerous, tortured men of the Great Wolves M.C. and the strong women they love.

Dex - When they locked me away for another man's crime they called it justice. When they set me free they called that justice too. But their damned justice cost me my freedom, my family, my club, and the only woman I ever wanted ... Ava.

Now I'm back. Only two things have kept me sane all these years. I want to hurt the man responsible for sending me to prison and end his hold over the Great Wolves M.C. forever. And I want the feel of Ava's body beneath mine again. I need to watch the way she surrenders only to me and makes me whole. It's selfish of me to think Ava would wait for me.
But, I'm a selfish man and it's time for me to take back what's mine.

Ava - At night, sometimes I still dream of what it felt like when Dex touched me. He awakened things in me, made me burn for him like no other man has since. But those are just dreams, aren't they? The years, distance, and the battles I've fought have made me remember Dex as something more than he really was. Except now he's back, stirring my body and heart even though my head knows better. I can't let him take me back into his world...the club, the violence, the heartache.
I can't survive loving or losing him all over again and we both know there's only one way this can end.

***This is a standalone, full length romance novel introducing the men of the Great Wolves M.C. Each book is interconnected and part of a series. They DO NOT contain cliffhangers.***

This is not a cliffhsnger! This was interesting and dealt with two subcultures, motorcycle clubs and organized crime. It is about dealing with the consequences of decisions... your own and others. It is an interesting book and was esily read.

The relationship of the main characters seemed a little unbelievable. Otherwise OK.

Loved the story of Dex and Ava. The connection they had after thirteen years was so strong it was if they were never apart. The story was good and the sex was hot, worth the time to read it.

I liked it. It was a good book, decently written. I was expecting paranormal for some reason, probably given the "Great Wolves" name, but I wasn't disappointed.

This is by no means a novella but its a bit short for a full length novel, i am normally a fan of full length novels as they give the writer more time to develop the characters and storylines. However, this book was unique, it felt like a full length novel and i was hooked. Loved the characters, loved the storylines and cant wait to continue on in this series.

Book exchanged for an honest review~ Declan "Dex" McLain was in prison for thirteen years for a crime he never committed and pushed away the love of his life because he couldn't bear to see her in pain. Dex is a free man thanks to the efforts of his daughter Tora. Dex truly thought he'd live out his days in Marion Penitentiary. Dex sees all the good changes in The Great Wolves MC things he and his best friend Sly dreamed of long ago. If Dex has one regret it's turning the love of his life Ava Olander away. He really hopes to get a chance to reconnect with her again. Ava Olander is an ER nurse with her own share of battle scars from serving in the military to being apart of The Great Wolves MC. George Pagano believes that he owns Dex and intends to collect said debt no matter what. As Dex tries to find his place within The Great Wolves MC, he notices that V.P. Billy has alot more ambition than Sly believes him to have. When a series of coincidences occur around Dex he knows whose involved whether Pagano admits it or not. Can Dex and Ava really be a couple? Will the past keep them apart again? Your answers await you in Dex. I kinda came to this story backwards. I read Sawyer first. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I usually start with the first book. Yet I'm kinda glad I started backwards because it's given me a different perspective to this series that I otherwise wouldn't have had. The story and characters were real, gritty, raw, loyal, compelling, and intriguing too. Definitely looking forward to Sly's story next.
