I have read just about every book by this author and this is the only one that I haven't liked. It was just too crazy and goofy. It is totally different from her other books. I couldn't finish it, It was just too ridiculous.

The title definitely sets the tone for the book. It is light, easy reading, with funny and engaging characters. The plot is completely unbelievable, but don't let that stop you from reading it. The main character tries to solve what appears to be three attempts on her life, but other that a pair of designer shoes getting ruined, nobody is seriously hurt in this book. This book would definitely fall into the category of "chick lit", no serious thought required, but full of entertainment value.

I agree with another reviewer-it could have done without the cheap potty talk. Snappy dialogue was usurped by repetition, ubersilliness, and sophmoric dialogue. Very disappointing.

I have read quite a few of C.L. Bevill's novels and have found most of them very entertaining. This book is no exception. It is in a different genre from the other books I have read and reminds me a lot of the Stephanie Plum series (by Janet Evanovich). The characters are interesting and the plot is believable ... well ... up to a point. I have a hard time visualizing any nice person having as much bad luck as Mary Grace but strange things happen in this world. If you like mystery books, try this one. You won't be disappointed.

a nice easy read in the class with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plumb series.... attempted murder, a little sex and some laughs.

Another fun story by Bevill. As a transplant to Chicago from the south, I love reading about "Southern" humor. Manners abound. God forbid a lady did not present herself as gracious...and a fashionista. This is a very light read with mystery, humor, sex, and an Italian mama to be reckoned with.

C. L. Bevell, you've done it again. I thought this book was hilarious. Sorta like the Bubba books. Mary Grace has the knack for falling into trouble. She has had several attempts on her life and she wants to know who and why. The brand name stuff reminds me of someone i know...as far as the sex goes, this was mild stuff. At least she didnt go into a lot of detail. A very good and funny book.
