My fingers snagged on an uneven part of the hem. "Please tell me this isn't--" I covered my mouth when I saw the gapping hole in the hemline of Sylvia's dress.

"What's this?" Lorea held up a shiny piece of metal.

My skin prickled with goosebumps. "That looks like part of a razor blade." I closed my eyes, but not before the image of blood trickling down a knife point seared my consciousness. "I don't understand. Do you think our shipment was tampered with?"

Adrielle Pyper is a wedding planner extraordinaire. It's all she's ever wanted to do and she's great at it. She has her own business, Adrielle Pyper's Dream Weddings, and she and her mom have a website, www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com, where they post wedding planning ideas and her mom's craft how-to's. She's just expanded her business to include wedding dresses, but when the first shipment comes in one of the dresses is missing and another is damaged. An unexpected surprise turns up in one of the dresses, then the store is broken into and several of the new wedding dresses are stolen, along with the office's floor safe! What is going on?! Adri's got two celebrity weddings coming up in just a couple of months--she doesn't have time to be sidelined (or sidetracked) by all of the weird things that are happening. I don't see how Adrielle held it together--between the strange things going on with the wedding dress shipment, the store being burglarized, threatening notes, a diva/bridezilla on the rampage, trying to figure out what's going on, she still had to plan two important weddings, and she's trying to figure out which guy she's really attracted to. I changed my mind several times on who the guilty person was. Not to spoil anything, but some of the things that happened aren't related to the others. Hmm. I was totally surprised by the ending and how it connected to why she moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. I love that she adopted the stray kitten and how he ends up saving her and helping to catch the guilty party. The wedding and craft ideas at the beginning of each chapter are fun and I saved some of them. Rachelle Christensen does a great job keeping the suspense going throughout the book and keeping you guessing who did it. I look forward to reading the other 2 books in this series.

This book was a captivating read, which held my interest. It was sweet and fun. It was clean but felt like reading a guilty pleasure. The characters had distinct personalities and seemed like real people. The story had drama, excitement and intelligence, as well as an understanding of human psychology. It would probably appeal more to women than men. I'm looking forward to reading other books in this series.

This was a delightful, funny, who done it book with some romance all wrapped up in one. That means it fits all the things I love in a book. This is the first book I’ve read from author Rachelle Christensen and I look forward to more. She does a great job of developing all the character’s with very different personalities. It kept me wanting to continue reading it and never put it down. II also enjoyed the different craft and food ideas before each chapter The story is about Adri Pyper who is a wedding planner. Her best friend was murder so Adri moved closer to home and started her own wedding planning business. She ends up having two rich and famous clients but then the mystery starts. She finds diamonds, dresses are stolen and it seems someone is after Adri. That’s all I’m saying to want you to read it and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Note: I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review. When I agreed to read the book, I briefly second guessed it because I'm not normally a mystery type reader. However, my faith in the author proved true and I ended up enjoying the book more than I expected. In fact, I enjoyed it enough that I'm actually looking forward to reading the next book of the series. For me, the not-really-into-mystery-reader, it started off a bit slow, but I realized that there must be a lot of clues in those opening pages, so I kept turning pages. Sure enough, things started to gel as I approached the midway point and from there, the pace quickened all the way through to the end. I appreciated the clean nature of the writing in that I didn't have to worry about any foul language or steamy romance. I was able to focus on the plot and try to guess at the clues. The mystery ended up surprisingly complex with multiple layers going on simultaneously. The romance is also quite complex. I also found the characters to be well developed. They grew as the book progressed. I learned more details about them throughout the book - more like real life. Romance - PG - lots of kissing, but kissing only Language - PG Violence - PG - a couple of intense scenes My rating - 4 stars

I loved this book. First off, I enjoyed how she incorporated a craft with every chapter. Besides reading, crafting is another of my hobbies. It was fun to see Rachelle's ideas and to look her up on Pinterest and the Internet. I loved the mystery and suspense of this book. It will keep you guessing to the end. Adri had a rough past year and the hits just keep on coming. You find yourself hoping she will get her happily ever after! It was a great book! Can't wait to read the next one!

Diamond Rings are Deadly Things was my first read by author Rachelle J. Christensen. It follows the life of Adrielle Pyper and her business of being a wedding planner. All is going well until she and her business partner and friend, Lorea, receive a shipment of high end wedding dresses from China. That first order is not going as planned as one of the dresses is missing and one is damaged. Trying their best to fix those mistakes and make their clients happy, especially two very famous ones, starts to become more than they bargained for, especially when a series of misfortunes and unexplained disturbances begin to happen. Enter a couple of interesting guys for love interests for Adrielle, a big secret she is keeping, and a past tragedy and you have the making of a great mystery. This book is at times lighthearted and others creepy as along with Adrielle you are never sure who to trust. At the beginning of each chapter there are some really cute ideas and tips from making bridal showers and weddings memorable to such tips on stain removal and storing your dress. I really liked that added craftiness on the author’s part. This story had me reading late into the night with plenty of surprises on the way. I was not able to guess who the real culprit was until that person(s) was revealed. I look forward to more of Ms. Christensen stories. I received this book for review and the opinions are my own.

There are many things I liked about this book. A strong, intelligent, and sometimes sassy (in a funny way) heroine, Adri. A believable and likeable best friend and sidekick in her assistant, Lorea. The complex and multi-layered men whom Adri dated. The details included about wedding dresses and weddings were especially interesting to me since I love to sew and craft. A DIY craft idea or recipe for a food or beverage to serve at a bridal shower or wedding were included at the beginning of each chapter. And perhaps most importantly for a mystery novel, there were loads of red herrings in the form of unusual characters and odd events. Adri's best friend, Briette, had been murdered before the start of this novel. Adri was still mourning her friend's death, and had made some major life changes in an attempt to heal from the shock of losing her pal. She opened a wedding planning business not far from her hometown in Idaho and is enjoying some success in her new venture. As Adri experiences each traumatic event and crisis in the story, her extremely likeable parents and brother, Wes, are supportive and helpful. As the story moves on, Lorea and the men Adri is dating, or may want to date, rally around Adri to help her make sense of what is happening in her life and business. The last quarter of the book is fast-paced and exciting as each secret from the various characters is revealed and the mystery of Briette's death is solved. This book is clean fiction, with no swearing, and only kissing between Adri and her dates. I highly recommend this book for readers who enjoy clean romance, mysteries, and stories with some extras such as the DIY crafts and recipes the author included in this book. I can't wait to read Book #2 in this series! The publisher sent me an Advance Reader's Edition of this book in exchange for an honest review. I received no compensation for writing this review, and the thoughts shared here are entirely my own.

Weddings can be fun and nerve-racking at the same time, but for wedding planner Adrielle Pyper they can also turn deadly. Adri has had a terrible shock in her life so she moves to Sun Valley, Idaho, to start a new business and get her shelf back on track. With her friend, Lorea Zubiondo, they operate Adrielle Pyper’s Dream Weddings. To add to their growing business, they begin to offer a designer wedding gown service. When the first shipment of dresses arrive, the gown of their most high profile client is vandalized. Dealing with the bridezilla is bad enough, but when the dress is stolen Adri has her work cut out. As the wedding draws closer, aspects from Adri’s past surface. Adri searches to uncover the mystery surrounding the gowns only to find herself in mortal danger. DIAMOND RINGS ARE DEADING THINGS is the first installment in the Wedding Planner Mystery series incorporating bits of Adri’s past into the present for an intriguing read. The story moves at a steady pace quickly pulling the reader in. Each chapter begins with helpful wedding planning tips. To enhance the story even more, a website – Mashed Potatoes and Crafts – has been set up to demonstrate Adri’s tips, as well as other helpful information. Author Rachelle J. Christensen has created likable and realistic characters. She blends the drama of a mystery with the allure of weddings mixing in a good dose of humor, suspense, and of course, a touch of romance. Wedding planning takes on a whole new adventure when Adrielle Pyper’s Dream Weddings handles the details. The twists and unexpected surprises will keep you guessing until the end. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Mystery, suspense, murder and romance all intriguingly tied together in one very fun walk-down-the-isle wedding story! Adrielle has opened her own wedding planning business and her business card reads: "Adrielle Pyper's Dream Weddings Where happily ever after is your destination." But happily ever after isn't suppose to be so hard! Working with 'bridezillas.' Having her store vandalized. Wedding dresses stolen. Threatening pictures left about. Two men vying for her heart. And a secret within the folds of satin and lace. Adri will have to sort through her feelings of the past and decide how to move forward with the future "before she becomes the next victim." "A delightful blend of mystery, toe-curling kisses, humor, and spine-tingling thrills!" LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. IT! AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL! SO WANT MORE FROM THIS AUTHOR!

I ended up reading this book to my husband while we drove and we LOVED it! We both got into it right away. The characters were fun, the writing flawless, and the mystery intriguing enough that when we stopped for gas or lunch we found ourselves talking about our latest theories and predictions. It was equal parts humorous, suspenseful, and romantic. Rachelle's descriptions of the setting, Sun Valley, Idaho, make it sound like the perfect place for a visit. I could picture everything. I loved the addition of the real blog, Mashed Potatoes and Crafts, that Rachelle has set up to coordinate with the book. It's genius and gives you photos and step-by-step instructions for the crafts and recipes described at the beginning of each chapter. And as a bonus, it makes the plot line seem that much more real. The only bad thing? We finished our drive before we finished the book and my husband wouldn't let me read on without him. It was a good thing we had another long drive scheduled a few days later so we could finish it! Diamond Rings was the perfect read for vacation!

I found this book to be a good, clean mystery, with a bit of romance and murder thrown in. The story revolves around a busy Wedding Planner, Adrielle Pyper, who is trying to escape her past, where her best friend was murdered. She has moved to Idaho, her home state, within a hour or so of her parents, to begin over. Getting a new business started is never easy, and in the beginning of the book, things are looking bright. Of course, it wouldn’t be a good story if things stayed all rosy. Adri has some awesome customers, and some real bridezillas; you would like to help her get rid of them. So we have the remnants of her friends murder, robbery, stalking, diamonds, and good-looking men. As far as the men go Adri goes from famine to feast, with two guys, Dallas and Luke, and one is a bit to fast for my taste, and the other is almost to good to be true. I enjoyed reading this book, but some parts were a bit wordy, and long. Big coincidence how everything falls into place, but it does have some good secrets here. Be prepared for a page-turner to find the answers to all of your questions, I had to stay up late and finish. I received this book through the Publisher Shadow Mountain, and was not required to give a positive review.

4.5 Stars Actually :) I love it when a clean story comes around that I get a chance to review.  This book was such a fun read.  I love mystery.  This book was super cute also.  I know, sounds kind of like an oxymoron, but it was mysterious and cute :). I just loved Adri.  Adri is a wedding planner along with her assistant Lorea.  They are a great couple of girls hoping to take their business to a whole new level.  They decide to add wedding dresses to their store.  It was suppose to be a good thing. Adri has a two brides she is planning weddings for and one is Sylvia and she is a bridezilla, The other is Natalie, Lorea's friend, and she is super sweet.  It's fun to see the differences.  I could honestly not understand why anyone would be a bridezilla.  It's so sad.  No one likes mean girls. When they get their first shipment of dresses there is already a problem.  Some are missing, and one has a rip in it.  Adri takes one home to take out the hem for Lorea and she finds a surprise in the hem of the dress.  One that she is sure that dangerous people are after.  Instead of calling the police right away she hides what she has found, and the worlds gets a little more dangerous for her after that. There is something in Adri's past that has kept her closed off from others for a while.  That is until Lorea convinces her to go out with someone.  Lorea decides to go out on a date with Dallas, a man she had gone out once before with.  She is so happy that she decided to go out again.  She also has a mysterious hottie that she has been seeing on her runs.   A new lawyer rolls into town by the name of Clay Stetson.  Okay, how can you not love the name Stetson.  Hello!  Clay and Adri don't really hit it off right away.  Clay is a total cynic when it comes to marriage.  Clay is handling Natalie and Brock's prenup.  Clay seems to be showing up everywhere now along with Dallas.   I loved this story.  There is so much going on and I love how it connects in the end.  Again, I thought I knew who the bad guy was.  Then I thought there might be more than one bad guy. There is a lot going on in this story.  There is the wedding planning, the mysterious package in the dress, and then there is Adri's past.  There is so much to love about this book!!!   If you like mystery, and romance then this is a great book for you. I loved how every chapter had a cute wedding themed dish, craft, etc.  There are some in the book I plan on using for a nephew that is getting married soon. Source:  I was given this book by Shadow Mountain in return for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any way for this review.  These are my own PERSONAL thoughts on the book.
