About the Author
At the tender age of fifteen, Andrew decided to leave his home on the Island of Portland and join the British Mercantile Marines. He worked his way up from a deck boy on the R.M.S. Invernia, a Cunard passenger liner being used to ferry troops across the Atlantic, to captain of a Cunard passenger liner. Along the way, he spent 25 years on various vessels as they plied their trade across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This is his story taken from journals he kept during those 25 years at sea.
