About the Author

Ann Hyman has lived many lives. She sang opera, blues, gospel and jazz, was in marketing for a Fortune 50 company, spent decades in sales and management, owned her own business, sold her oil paintings and stained-glass creations, endured 10 years as a military officer's wife, and raised a daughter who became a responsible adult in spite her slightly quirky Woodstock-era mom.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, she has lived in eight different states. She received her BA in Business and Marketing from Columbia College and did post-graduate work at University of Central Oklahoma.

Her writing experience includes a long-running column, "Ann-Alogies," in Oklahoma City's "Single Life Newspaper" and several magazine articles including, "Rejection: A Salesman's Perspective," which appeared in Writer's Journal.

She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta fraternity. As an alumna, she was vice president of the Oklahoma City alumnae association, acted as a chapter advisor, sat on multiple corporation and housing boards, and served as Alpha Xi's representative to National PanHellenic Association.

Professionally, she was president of Oklahoma City's chapter of Financial Women International and sat on the Blue Chip Committee of Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. Ms Hyman has been a member of both the Northern California and Los Angeles chapters of Sisters in Crime, Left Coast Writers and San Diego's Writers, Ink.

Between 2006 and 2012, she served as house director to multiple sororities in California. Though she eventually hopes to retire to a houseboat, she is currently a Citizen of the World.
