McGuiness is a writer and freelance children's book editor who lives in Northern California with her husband and two children, as well as two extraordinary, ordinary kitties and dog.

Lisa Congdon is an illustrator and fine artist. She has been creating things since she was young, but did not begin painting until she was 33 years old.
