I love this book. I currently have a copy but was looking for another. The beginning of the book has space for recording your inital weight and measurements. Recording your measurements helps keeps me motivated when I'm losing inches and not pounds. There's also sections where you record your weekly, monthly and yearly statistics. I use the book to plan my food and exercise for the next day. I then go back and make any necessary revisions when the day I'm recording is done. This book enables me keep my diet and exercise history. I used to write calories consumed on a piece of paper that I threw out at the end of each day. The history helps me find out why I gain or lose weight. It also helps me analyze my diet for protein, fat, fiber and carbs. You do need to know how to count calories to use this book. I use an online calorie counter to get the nutrional values of the foods I eat to log my food. (I trust www.thedailyplate.com, www.calorieking.com/foods/ and www.thedailyplate.com/) I don't see the problem of converting to the American measuring system in my version (ISNB 174181135X). The spaces are blank so you can log with any measuring system you like. This book really helps keep you on track.
The beginning of the book does give some great ideas for weight loss, but the extent of the information recommended is very time consuming. It is also not the best of books if you are a beginner. You have to know what things like Fibre (fiber) is and you have to know what kj/Cal (caleries) are, how to measure your food, where to look up the amount of fat, protein and carbs are on the labels of the items you eat. You will also need to know how to calculte these if you do not consume or eat more than what is recommended on the label. On the other hand, it can be very motivating when utilized properly. It will show you when your eating too much and where you can cut back. This will definately keep you going or make you want to give up. It's based on how dedicated you are to loosing weight. If you want to really make a go of it and are really wanting to loose weight, this can be a great tool. For total success I recommend the book listed below.
something being sold in the us for weight loose should at least be in pounds not killigrams ... retruned the book could not use at all
