About the Author

I was born in North London and educated in Hove, Sussex, and London. After many years travelling around the world and setting up and managing new branches for a holiday tour company, I returned to England. In the 1970s, I started my own business in retail in Swindon, Wiltshire. As a lifelong philatelist, in 1985, I moved with my family to Eastbourne, East Sussex, and opened an online and retail stamp shop. Writing poetry and short stories, rekindled an interest in history and Sussex. My first book was about the history and setup of town halls in Sussex. This was followed by a book on the military barracks in Hailsham during the Napoleonic War. The next book published in June 2021 is the history of Eastbourne Borough's independent fire service. My latest (April 2023) is an ebook about an oil tanker exploding in the English Channel and now a mystery from the Pacific.
