Digital Imaging: A Practical Approach

Koelling (Special Collections and Archives, Cline Library, Northern Arizona University) overviews the use of digital imaging in archiving in this guide for collection managers, curators, museum directors, and exhibit designers. With a glossary of terms supplied at the beginning of the book, readers can get comfortable with the language and basic concepts of the field before delving into material on what to look for when buying a scanner, how to plan a digital project, how to use image manipulation to enhance historical research, and how to use digital technology to recover information from deteriorated originals. B&w examples are included from the Nebraska State Historical Society. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
