It was wrong for us to be together, but it was even harder to be apart.
The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.
Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.
Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.
We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.

The King of Fuck
Even by Southampton standards, the party at the nine-thousand-square-foot mansion on Meadow Lane reeked of extravagance.
Grammy Award–winning artists performed on an outdoor stage that had been set up on the lush lawn that flowed from the main house to the tennis courts. Celebrities hobnobbed with models who flirted with Wall Street tycoons who discussed stock prices with tech gurus and old-money academics, all while sampling fine scotch and the season’s chicest gin. Colored lights illuminated the grotto style pool, upon which nude models floated lazily on air mattresses, their bodies used by artisan sushi chefs as presentation platters for epicurean delights.
Each female guest received a Hermès Birkin bag and each male received a limited edition Hublot watch, and the exclamations of delight—from both the men and the women—rivaled the boom of the fireworks that exploded over Shinnecock Bay at precisely ten p.m., perfectly timed to distract the guests from the bustle of the staff switching out the dinner buffet for the spread of desserts, coffee, and liqueurs.
No expense had been spared, no desire or craving or indulgence overlooked. Nothing had been left to chance, and every person in attendance agreed that the party was the Must Attend event of the season, if not of the year. Hell, if not of the decade.
Everyone who was anyone was there, under the stars on the four acre lot on Billionaires’ Row.
Everyone, that is, except the billionaire who was actually hosting the party. And speculation as to where he was, what he was doing, and who he was doing it with ripped through the well-liquored and gossip-hungry crowd like wildfire in a windstorm.
“No idea where he could have disappeared off to, but I’d bet good money he’s not pining away in solitude,” said a reed-thin man with salt-and-pepper hair and an expression that suggested disapproval but was most likely envy.
“I swear I came five times,” a perky blonde announced to her best friend in the kind of stage whisper designed to attract attention. “The man’s a master in bed.”
“He’s got a shrewd head for business, that one,” said a Wall Street trader, “but no sense of propriety where his cock is concerned.”
“Oh, honey, no. He’s not relationship material.” A brunette celebrating a recently inked modeling contract shivered as if reliving a moment of ecstasy. “He’s like fine chocolate. Meant to be savored in very limited quantities. But so damn good when you have it.”
“More power to him if he can grab that much pussy.” A hipster with beard stubble and a man-bun wiped his wire-rimmed glasses clean with his shirttail. “But why the fuck does he have to be so blatant about it?”
“All of my friends have had him.” The petite redhead who pulled in a six figure wife bonus smiled slowly, and the flash of her green eyes suggested that she was the cat and he was the delicious cream. “But I’m the only one of us to enjoy a second helping.”
“All your friends?”
“How much pussy?”
“At least half the women here tonight. Maybe more.”
“Man, don’t even ask that. Just trust me. Dallas Sykes is the King of Fuck. You and me? Mere mortals like us can’t even compare.”
Three floors above the partygoers, in a room with a window overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Dallas Sykes sucked hard on the clit of the lithe blonde who sat on his face and writhed with pre-orgasmic pleasure. The blonde’s cries of “yes, yes!” mingled with the throaty moans of delight coming from the curvaceous redhead who straddled his waist while he finger-fucked her hard and deep.
They’d surrendered to him, these women, and the knowledge that they were his tonight—for tenderness, for torment—cut through him. A wicked aphrodisiac with an edge as sharp as steel, and at least as savage.
He was drunk—on sex, on scotch, on submission. And right then, all he wanted was to get lost in pleasure. To let all the rest of the shit just melt away.
“Please.” The redhead’s muscles clenched tight around his fingers, and a tremor ran through his body, his need for release now so potent that it crossed the line into pain. “I’m so close, Dallas. I want you inside me. Now. Oh, god, please. Now.”
He could barely understand her words, lost as they were in the wet sounds of his mouth on the blonde’s sweet pussy. But he heard enough, and in one wild, rough movement, he rolled the girl above him to the side, so that she stretched and trembled on the bed, her nipples hard and her pussy slick and open and inviting.
Dallas felt his body tighten with need. With desire. But only for release. He didn’t want either of these women. Not really. Their company, yes. The escape they offered, sure. But them?
Neither was the woman he craved. Neither was the girl who had both saved and destroyed him. The woman he wanted.
The woman he could never have.
And so instead he sought pleasure and passion in the violent rapture of hard, hot sex.
“Sit back,” he said to the blonde as he pushed away his dark thoughts and regrets. He reached for the crystal highball glass and downed the last of the Glenmorangie, relishing the way it burned his throat and buzzed his head. “Back against the headboard. Legs spread wide.”
She nodded, moving eagerly to obey as he urged the redhead off his waist. “Fuck me,” the redhead begged. Her green eyes flashed, her expression pleading. Her lips were swollen, her skin flushed. She smelled of sex, and the scent—so familiar, so dangerous, so goddamned compelling—made him even harder. “I want you to fuck me.” Her words were a pout—a plea—and Dallas almost smiled in response.
Almost, but not quite.
Instead he lifted a brow. “Want? Baby, this isn’t about what you want. This is about what you need.”
“Then I need you to fuck me.”
His lips twitched. He liked a woman who knew her own mind, that was for damn sure. And the redhead truly amused him. He’d plucked her from the crowd downstairs because he’d liked the way she’d filled out the flirty black dress that was now crumpled in a heap on his bedroom floor. That, and the fact he happened to know that she had a cousin who worked for a government official in Bogotá, and that connection might prove handy one day.
As for the blonde, Dallas had no particular agenda with her. But he appreciated her limber little body and quiet obedience. Right now, she was sitting exactly as he’d told her, her legs wide apart and wonderfully vulnerable. She wasn’t moving a muscle, but the beat of her pulse in her throat telegraphed her excitement at least as much as her tight nipples and hot, wet pussy.
He met the redhead’s flashing green eyes, then nodded toward the blonde. “You want to get fucked. I want to watch. And I promise you, she wants to do whatever I say. Sounds like a perfect recipe, don’t you think?”
The redhead dragged her polished white teeth over her lower lip. “I’ve never—”
“But you will. Tonight.” He met her eyes. “For me.”
She licked her lips as he slid off the bed and stood. She was still sitting, her knees pressed into the mattress as she sat back on her heels. He leaned forward, then took her in a long, slow kiss. She tasted of strawberries and innocence. He wanted to devour the first; he wanted to erase the second. “Hook your legs around her waist and kiss her deep. Suck her tits. Touch her however you want to. But she’s going to fuck you with her fingers while you and I both imagine it’s my cock. And, baby? You’re going to come harder for me than you’ve ever come for anyone.”
He could hear the tremor of excitement in her voice and knew that he had her. “I’ll be right here,” he said as he took her hand and urged her toward the blonde, who was flushed pink with anticipation. He moved behind the redhead, cupping her breasts as she put her legs around the blonde’s waist, then he squeezed her nipples hard as the blonde’s fingers slid into her core.
Pressed against her back, he could feel every tremor of pleasure, every quickening in her pulse. And as she started to shake with a series of little convulsions, he slid his hand between her legs from behind, dipping his fingers into her wet pussy. As he did, his hand brushed up against the blonde’s, whose sensual moan shot straight to his cock.
Next, he slid his now-slick finger up to tease the redhead’s ass as she bucked against him, her body clearly on fire from this dual assault. “Dallas,” she moaned as her body shook with release. “Oh, god, Dallas, this is so fucked up.”
“That’s the way I like it, baby,” he said. “That’s the only way I play.”
It was true. He liked his sex dirty. Wild. He wanted to be reminded of who he was. What he’d become.
The King of Fuck. He’d heard what they all called him, and he had to appreciate how apt—and ironic—the moniker was. Because God knew he was fucked up. His whole goddamn life was an act. A facade.
He was damaged goods. As broken as a man could be. But he’d turned that shit around. Claimed it. Made it his own.
Maybe he would never again have the woman he craved in his arms, but if that was his reality, he was going to damn sure make the most of it.
With his free hand he reached down to stroke his cock. The sensation of his sex-slicked palm moving rhythmically over the steel of his erection mingled with the wild, almost feral sounds of the two women. He closed his eyes, imagining another place. Another woman.
He thought of her. He thought of Jane.
But not like this. Not fucked up. Not like a goddamn evening’s entertainment, as fungible as a night at the movies and at least as unimportant.
Except everything was fucked up. Him, most of all.
Goddammit. He needed to shut it down. These thoughts. These wishes.
All these damn regrets.
The sharp trill of his cellphone startled him from his thoughts, and he slid back away from the redhead who cried out in protest.
“Sorry, baby.” His voice was tense, his chest tight. “That’s the one ringtone I always answer.” He grabbed his phone off the bedside table, lightly brushing both women’s skin before turning his back to them and taking the call.
“Tell me,” he demanded, expecting the worst. His best friend, Liam Foster, wasn’t due to report in until the next morning. If he was calling now, it meant something had happened.
“It’s all good, man,” Liam said, his voice as close to excited as his military training would allow.
“The child?” Dallas had sent his team to Shanghai to recover the eight-year-old son of a Chinese diplomat who’d been kidnapped ten days prior.
“Fine,” Liam assured him. “Dehydrated. Malnourished. Scared. But he’s back with his family, and physically, he should make a full recovery.”

Maybe I'm just getting too stodgy, but victims of any abuse just aren't what I want in a romance novel. Not that I don't think people can move along, but this novel just didn't feel right to me. I've enjoyed Kenner's other novels, but this didn't do it for me.
I was a bit skeptical when I purchased this book online. But have since fell in love with the storyline as well as Dallas and Jane. I'm actually rooting for there relationship. Can't to see how this plays out. I'll hate to see it come to an end tho. As for why I gave it only 4 stars and not 5 if its so great? The character Jane can become very annoying at times. I just think there are better ways to write the adversaries that they have to face in their relationship, without making Jane an annoying, whiney and compulsive woman..
Intesting story with some crazy twist! REALLY ENJOYED!
Loved it, can't wait for July!!
A journey that no one should have to face, Jane and Dallas are still fighting emotions 17 years later. Secrets and deception run high but love lingers. Jane needs the air that Dallas breathes. Dallas thinks about Jane daily. Will he allow her in? Will he share his deepest wants and desires? Who can be trusted? Who has the connections to pull off the kidnapping that shattered them? J. Kenner is an incredible writer. A sensitive topic can be difficult to write but she delivered it beautifully. And yes...there's a cliffhanger...
Hot hot hot
I am a fan of J Kenner and her novels, but this one I just could not finish. The characters got jumbled and it got really old between Dallas and Jane being brother and sister.
Wow! J Kenner has done it again with a spin off of the Stark series called Dirtiest Secret (Stark International) This is the first book in a trilogy, and thank goodness! I've mbeen hooked on the Stark series since Damien and Nikki in Release Me. I've voraciously read every book that has come out and begged for more on the altar of Julie Kenner. And this spin-off has it all! Romance, suspense, hot, steamy sex, intrigue. You name it. Dallas and Jane have a dirty secret of course, they are truly, madly, and deeply hooked on one another, and have been since they were teenagers. They also share a horrible trauma with eachother, they were both kidnapped when Dallas was just 15 years old by 6 masked men. Now Dallas is a CEO and has done his level best to stay away from Jane because it hurts to much to be near her, he wants her too much, and he knows he can't have her. Jane feels the same way. And she doesn't know the biggest secrect that Dallas has been keeping. But you'll have to read on to find that out. And trust me, you'll want to read this book. Like everything else J Kenner writes, this book is just pure magic
This was my first J. Kenner book and all I can say is WOW! Loved the backstory, although to read, love seeing people getting through trsumatic experiences and go on to lead productive lives. Dallas and Jane are technically brother and sister but have loved each other forever. Will that keep them apart? Or will they fight to be together? Can't wait for the next book and looking forward to reading more J. Kenner!
J. Kenner has again wrote the best anti-hero you want to see win in the end. Dallas Sykes has loved Jane Sykes since the day they met at 4 and 7, guess what... they aren't married. Dallas and Jane are not blood related siblings adopted by the same parents. As they fight their insane attraction to one another a tragic event in their teenage years will send them spinning in different directions to find solace. Dallas and Jane like the magnets they are are constantly attracting and repealing each other. What happens when they stop fighting each other leads to a great start of Kenner's newest series S.I.N. in Dirtiest Secret.
Emotionally Intense This book grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. Ms Kenner pens a stepbrother romance that is heartbreaking, forbidden, and twisted. She pushes the envelope in this unique story and I haven’t come across anything so intensely emotional, angst-filled and covered in multiple layers of intrigue and suspense. It’s a compelling read and I could not put the book down, it’s equal parts erotic, intense, and hopeful. Dirtiest Secret is the first installment of the S.I.N. trilogy with bad boy Dallas Sykes and Jane Martin, his step-sister. Even though they don’t share blood, through convoluted means, they are legally siblings. Dallas Sykes is more than he seems. To society he’s portrayed as the bored playboy billionaire manwhore. But that’s only a cover persona to his real work behind Deliverance, a task force that helps kidnapped victims and their families. And he’s out for revenge against the people behind his and Jane’s kidnapping. My heart broke for these two lost and scarred souls who love each other so much, but struggle to overcome monumental psychological damage from their horrific kidnapping. They need lots of healing by unconventional means before they can truly love. Just a note, the story is told in third person where Dallas is concerned, but in first person, Jane’s POV, so the reader can feel all the pain and mixed feelings she has about Dallas. The story of Dallas and Jane promises to be a wild ride, and I’m fixin’ to put my seatbelt on for more. The story continues in the next book, Hottest Mess. I’m ready to find out about all the secrets and revelations. Great job, Ms. Kenner. Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My rating: 4.5
Wow- this book was a little different than I expected but I loved it. Be prepared for some naughty loving- it is a different take on a love story for sure. And the mystery the story centers on is fascinating. The only bad part of this book was that it ended with a cliff hanger. Can’t wait for the next book to see how the story ends. ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is an interesting start to a new series, I must say I am a bit intrigued with where the story is going. Dallas is rich notorious playboy he is broken inside and Jane knows and understands his pain, shares it with him and she can’t stop loving him no matter how much she hurts him. This is an emotional, dark and gritty story. I look forward to finding out what happens next.
This book was mind-blowing. J. Kenner takes you on ride through a dark, sexy and forbidden story. Dallas Sykes is known as the King of F*ck. He goes through women like most people drink water. He is rich and powerful. Most people don't know of his horrible past, when he was kidnapped as a teenager, except his family and closest friends. Dallas was kidnapped along with his "sister", Jane. While Dallas and Jane are not blood siblings, it just seems wrong. What Dallas and Jane went through while being held captive, no one will really understand except for them. It created a certain bond between these two that can never happen again. Well, never say never. Dallas and Jane stay away from each other, trying to get over their past in different ways but they both still long for the other. As Jane is writing her next book about children who have been kidnapped, her ex-husband tells her that they have a lead on her kidnapping from 17 years ago. Jane decides to go to Dallas to give him the news and this sets off their attraction to one another like it was still 17 years ago. The roller coaster these two are going on is just crazy. To be so attracted to some one whom you know is wrong to be with, but can't is just heartbreaking. As Dallas and Jane decide to try and handle their issues, we are taken along on this mind-blowing ride. Without giving away any spoilers, this story was awesome. I loved the mystery around everything that is happening. I really am enjoying Dallas and Jane. These two have chemistry off the charts. I had a feeling of some of the characters who may be involved in the kidnapping, but it was still a great cliff-hanger to read. I wish July would get here so I can read the next book!
Title: Dirtiest Secret Author: J. Kenner Genre: Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 320 Rating: 4 Setting: New York Main Characters: Jane and Dallas Summary: Jane and Dallas are madly in love with each other and have been pretty much since they met. Unfortunately they became siblings through adoptions and new marriages and can’t be together. Due to a kidnapping when they were in their teens they were able to use that as an excuse to avoid each other and not raise too many questions. Now, it’s a different story. Thoughts: The fact that Jane and Dallas are siblings (not by blood) turned me off a little. I wasn’t sucked into the story which is not usually the case with J. Kenner books. That being said, I did enjoy the book and I look forward to the rest of the series to find out more secrets and hopefully the reason behind the kidnapping. If you overlook the taboo that isn’t really a taboo it is a well written story that leaves the reader with more questions about the kidnapping and desperately wanting answers. I also hope that Liam gets his own HEA, I would love to hear his story. I received a free copy from NetGalley for an honest review.
4.25 stars-- DIRTIEST SECRET is the first installment in J. Kenner’s adult, contemporary S.I.N. erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on heir to a billion dollar enterprise Dallas Sykes, and author/ child advocate Jane Martin. DIRTIEST SECRET and the S.I.N. series is a spin off from J.Kenner’s STARK series. Dallas Sykes is reintroduced to the reader in DEEPEST KISS (March 2016). Told from first person point of view (Jane) and third person perspective (Dallas) using memories from the past and present day, DIRTIEST SECRET follows the ‘forbidden’ relationship between Dallas Sykes and Jane Martin. Dallas and Jane have known one another since early childhood, and have endured some dark and damaging times, but Dallas is keeping his distance from the woman that he loves to protect her from the man that he has become. Jane is a woman, strong in her convictions, but a woman who has loved Dallas Sykes most of her life. As she struggles with her relationship with and love for Dallas, Dallas continues to keep secrets from Jane and the rest of the world. What ensues are Jane’s attempts to keep Dallas in her life, as Dallas battles the demons from the past. To be honest, I am purposely being vague about much of the premise as the secrets from the past, the present and the possible future are dark, dangerous and heartbreaking, and are the catalyst that sent Jane and Dallas’s lives out of control. The ‘elephant in the room’-the person ultimately responsible for the past-is easily deduced from my perspective but there is always a possibility that something could change in future installments. The world building focuses on relationships, recovery and revenge-grieving about what was and what will never be yet struggling to ensure it will never happen again. We look at fractured family dynamics, secrets from the past, and a ‘forbidden’ love that is only forbidden in the mind-life long friends who have lived through hell and survived to live another day. The relationship between Jane and Dallas has been damaged and destroyed by the past- a past mired in betrayal, heartbreak, and abuse, that have formed the people we read about –today. The chemistry between Jane and Dallas is palpable; unmistakable and profound. Dallas needs and wants Jane with every breath that he takes, but he believes is unable to give Jane the love that she needs. J. Kenner once again traverses into the BDSM territory with secret clubs, and hidden desires. In all honesty, I am tiring of the BDSM trope-the billionaire who needs to control and use power to usurp the women in his life-sometimes I want a hero who doesn’t require Domination/submission to succeed or fall in love. DIRTIEST SECRET ends on a cliffhanger-it is book one of three and therefore be prepared to learn the truth-one book at a time. The premise is a slow build that focuses on what happened in the early years of Dallas and Jane’s life-the catastrophic actions of greed; the destructive nature of abuse and betrayal. The characters are heartbreaking, impassioned and intense. The romance is an emotional struggle against the odds-a love that has never faltered between two people who have fallen into a pit of darkened memories and a tainted past. DIRTIEST SECRET is an emotional and heartbreaking tale that grabs hold and refuses to let go.
Holy wow! This was awesomely intense, passionate, and erotic. I don't even know what to say or how to explain what I'm feeling but I pretty much inhaled it. Fantastic story I couldn't put down. Loved it! I don't normally read anything with the word "taboo" involved because I'm a chicken like that, but I love J. Kenner so I decided to go for it. I was not disappointed. Everything was so well developed with this great build that had me on the edge of my seat. When I got to that taboo thing, yup, I totally freaked out! But I trusted in the author - and I am so glad I did - because it was explained and I was good to go. I got an amazing, full story, that was well crafted. It was full of passion with strong characters who are scarred and have a lot of secrets. It was beyond great! The story has this powerful build. Not in your face, but this low key feeling that was under my skin, making me get wrapped up in the lives of Dallas and Jane. It was awesome. Loved the character development as their histories are revealed. It was captivating, heartbreaking, loving, and sensual. I had so many questions. Some were answered but not all. I cannot wait for the next book! Loved the characters involved. Dallas is sexy and commanding but so scarred and broken. I loved every single bit of insight into him. Jane was a wonderful woman. I loved her strength. There is this insatiable need between the two. This crazy want and desire that they fight. This push and pull that creates this amazing build full of need was crazy. There is this level of eroticism happening that I can't explain because it's so understated but it packs a powerful punch. The writing was superb. Loved the changing POV's and how their past was recounted. There are so many well thought out, well connected details. I love all those elements, they really drew me in. There is this great mystery-suspense element happening as well and I just didn't want it to end. I just need more. That's all there is to it. I am so glad I stepped outside of my box and tried something new because J. Kenner created an intense world full of want, need, and mystery that I can't get enough of. Complimentary copy received for honest review.
This novel was boring I didn't care about Dallas or Jane. I couldn't feel the connection between them and found myself skipping whole chapters to get to the point. All I got to was the disappointing end. What a waste of money
I was so hooked from start to finish but then again it was a J. Kenner read so its not surprising. This book is dark and dirty and OMG so good! We learn more about the playboy heir to multi-billion empire Dallas Sykes who we met in a previous Stark book. Dallas is so very damaged and even more dangerous and I sure as h*** wouldnt cross him as he does what is needed to protect those he loves. I'm gonna stop right here before I say to much and give it away. I cant wait to get my hands on book #2.
I am a huge fan of J. Kenner and have read ALL of the Stark International series, but I had a bit of trouble getting through this one.
