I love this book!!! I've always loved fairies, but this book almost makes fairy life come alive. Rani has always been one of my favorite fairies. One of the "pretty ones". But in all the movies and stuff, they don't say much about her. I've always wanted to know more about Rani, and this book makes it really easy to!!! :-D

"Ravenstrike, look!" Lagoonpaw held a dead rabbit in his jaws. It was aftr training, and the sun was setting. Ravenstrike admired the rabbit. "Nicely done, Lagoonpaw! You did well with your battle training, too! As good as me!" Lagoonpaw smiled. "So are you going to ask Powerstar to make me a warrior?" Ravenstrike purred. "How did YOU know? Of course!" Lagoonpaw yawned. "Can we go back to camp yet?" Ravenstrike suddenly yawned, too. "Sure. I'm pretty tired, myself. Pick up the rabbit and bring it with us." They padded along the sand-trail. The sun's last rays shone theough the leaves, creating little patterns on the path. Lagoonpaw admired them and pounced on them, until they were back at camp. Ravenstrike took the rabbit from Lagoonpaw and put it on the fresh-kill pile. The Clan erupted with questions and comments. "Did Lagoonpaw catch that?" "He caught it on his first day?" "He's one smart apperentice!" "I'm suprised he didn't win a battle already!" "How did he catch that?" The Clan silenced as Powerstar raced up Highrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here below Highrock!" The cats swarmed below the tall boulder. "Splashkit, do you promise to protect and uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?" "I do!" Splashkit purred. "From now until you have recieved your warrior name, you will be know as Splashpaw. Your mntor will be Deadlyoak. Greet your mentor." Splashpaw made a face. "No! Not that mangy furball!" Deadlyoak growled and padded up to her. "Sit down!" Powerstar ordered. Deadlyoak and Splashpaw dissolved into the croud. "Lagoonpaw, you have completed you training. From this moment, you will be known as Lagoonbreeze. And Ravenstrike has asked me to make him an elder. He will always be respected by our Clan, and remembered after his death." Ravenstrike stood up and moved to the elders' side of the croud. "I have been getting old. I will move into the warriors' group and be one of them until my apperentice has completed her training. When she is a warrior, I will move to the elders' group. From now on, my deputy, Oracleglow, will now be your leader." He padded down Highrock. "Powerstar will now be Powerheart!" Oracleglow called. Lagoonbreeze's stomach tightened. His father retired? His former mentor retired? He smiled. At least his aunt was leader! Then, Oracleglow spoke. "Whiteblossom has something to say!"
