I am from Rockland County where most of the crimes took place, so I was eager to read about them. This was an a very well-written, compelling book and frankly one of the best I read all year.

I read most of the chapter on my sister Joan¿s case. The author gave the case the right respect and I liked that there were subheadings so I knew what I was getting into. I was able to avoid reading the details of my sister¿s death. I was also very glad the author included the story of my mother¿s work to make changes in order to insure children would not get murdered like my sister. The writing was very good and he explained what she has accomplished in a really clear, interesting way that I was able to understand better what she has done. From what I looked at in the rest of the book, I could see that Dr. Zugibe¿s expertise and I realized that we were lucky he worked on my sister¿s case.

I only got so far as the sample. I, having no medical background, was able to tell how the first body decayed abnormally before the author. The reasoning seemed so obvious and yet the author took a substatial amount of time to come to the same conclusion. Therefore, I will not be buying this book.

This book does a great job of explaining death investigation techniques by examining real cases. I recommend it to all my forensic science students.

if you are interested in what happens during an autopsy step by step then you will like this. i thought this was going to be about how the people died, etc. kinda boring to me.

This was a very interesting book, usually unable to put it down. It is a must read if you have any interest in forensic pathology. Tons of information, & easy to follow. Dr. Zugibe describes his cases very well.

Dr. Zugibe leaves very little to question, and that in, my opinion is a major qualifying factor in a very qualified Forensic Pathologist.
