The Diva Paints the Town (Domestic Diva Series #3) by Krista Davis

In the third Domestic Diva mystery, a decorating project leaves Sophie Winston with a deadly case that has to be seen to be believed...

Sophie Winston’s reclusive neighbor, Professor Mordecai Artemus, has died and left his sprawling home to his Pomeranian. Sophie feels a tad guilty for not having befriended Mordecai, but at least she’s not as heartless as her nemesis Natasha, who’s descended on the house with a crew of interior designers and contractors to renovate the place for the statewide Spring Home and Garden Tour.

Even Sophie’s been assigned a room to decorate: the family room, where the Professor did most of his living—and where he died. In the midst of cleaning, spackling and painting, Sophie uncovers a second body—but when next she looks it’s disappeared!  Now Sophie has to hammer away to discover the truth about the missing man, before her best friend gets nailed for murder...

Includes delicious recipes and entertaining tips!

I, too, agree with the first reviewer----that I would really like to meet Nina Reid Norwood. She must be based on fantastic models!!!! The book will appeal to everybody----magnificently written and a joy to read. I have given 5 stars in every category. Congratulations, Krista. Harriet Smith

This is a thrilling and suspenseful book. The characters and plot are well developed, especially Nina Reid Norwood. I would like to meet her one day! I continue to be impressed and love the way that Krista Davis leaves you hanging and wanting more at the end of each chapter. It is similar to a mysterious soap opera. I also love the recipies.

This book and its side dishes (previous books) are as delicious as the recipes Sophie cooks up and the ones included in her books. It is like a scrumptious dessert. It is filling but you still have to eat it all in one sitting because you don't have the will power to savor it slowly.

Once again, I sat down and read this adventure in one sitting! It was such a delight to follow the antics of Sophie and her friends who always get involved in a murder. I want to sit in Sophie's warm kitchen and eat those delicious snacks and meals she whips together! I can't wait to read the next edition of the Diva's adventures! I have gotten several more copies of this book to give to my bookclub and friends for their birthdays. Thanks for a fun afternoon of escapism! From a nondiva who loves to read about divas

Another great read from the cozy mystery genre! In this installment in the Diva series, Sophie is hosting the Design Guild Expo, designing a room in a showhouse, trying to help a shy mortician find a love connection and solving a murder that once again someone is trying to pin on her! The cast of characters are extremely well developed and interesting, the plot is wrought with twists and humor, but best of all is the hoard of animals that grace this story! If you are up for a good laugh and a fun murder mystery, then this book and in fact, this series is the one for you!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I volunteered for this because the book looked to be something that I would enjoy and I was correct in that assumption. This is actually the third book in this cozy mystery series. I can't wait to read the others. I just love discovering a new series, knowing there are a bunch more to read. Sophie is an event planner that has been charged with planning a different kind of event. Her long time neighbor has passed away and has bequest her to arrange a bequest party. He has left very specific instructions for the gathering and Sophie must follow them to a T. She does, and what follows is a bit of hilarity and suspense and just a bit of romance, not to mention a disappearing body or two. A wonderful combination, and just what is needed for a romp through a great story line with some real "characters". Go ahead and give this series a shot, and this book in particular, you will not regret it! I have already started reading the next one:)

Krista Davis does it again. I just can't get enough of these books the new books keep eclipsing the old books. Davis description of a tight community and wonderful characters makes me want to move to old town and hang out with Sophie and her friends. what I love especially in these books is that you think you know who the murder is but then a twist happens and you are running in another direction. Davis all ways keeps you guessing and it's hard to put the book down once you start. I can't wait for the next edition in the series and would recommend everyone start to read theses books!

Childhood acquaintances, neighbors, and big time competitors, Sophie and Natasha are at it again during the House and Garden Show in their Old Town Alexandria neighborhood. This third in the series, 'Diva' books, continues to charm, with chapters headed with letters asking for help in decorating this time around. Sophie has some wonderfully practical advice, while Natasha continues with advice that would make Martha Steward look dowdy and cheap. Sophie is in the middle of running the towns House and Garden Show when a body turns up in the winning display. This time the body is a young woman policeman who has been bragging about her relationship with Officer Wolf. Ups, isn't he Sophie's boyfriend? At the same time, an elderly recluse neighbor has just died and his house is being turned into a decorators' showcase home. When Natasha learns that he has requested Sophie to provide a party for those in his will, she throws a tantrum. Between decorating her own room in her neighbor's house, dodging rumors that she might have killed her boyfriend's new lover, and finding another body in the designer house, Sophie once again has her hands full. The characters from Krisda Davis' earlier books become more fleshed out, as do the adorable and rambunctious pets that abound in this book! Mystery, decorating ideas, and laugh out loud humor keeps these 'Diva' book favorite reads for me!!

This is the 3rd book in the Diva series and I found it just as satisfying as the first two. I picked it up intending to read for just a short while and before I knew it I had spent the whole afternoon finishing the book! Very enjoyable and well done!
