I love, love, love this series by Krista Davis. I stumbled on DIVA HAUNTS THE HOUSE and fell in love with it instantly. I ordered the rest of the series immediatly and started right in with DIVA RUNS OUT OF THYME. I am all caught up and ready for the upcoming installment. Sophie Winston is wonderful, I would want her as a friend. Krista writes the characters so well, you can really imagine knowing them. Old Towne is wondeful. This is such a fun, well written series. I love the "end of chapter cliff hangers" that keep me reading. I can barely put it down once I start. I feel so sad when I finish a book and can not wait to start reading the next. Great job Krista, keep writting, now that I found Sophie I don't want to loose her!

Sophie¿s sister Hannah is getting married. Sophie graciously offers to help Hannah plan her wedding despite her reservations with the groom-to-be. When the groom¿s ex-wife is found murdered, he becomes the number one suspect on Sophie's list. Sophie finds herself involved with the murder investigation to ease her doubts her sister is not marrying a killer.

This is an enjoyable, chaotic story about a wedding that goes awry. Although the events are improbable, it's still a quick, fun read. I'm a foodie and enjoyed the descriptions of the food and setups. And, it's a pretty good mystery: Davis had me guessing up to the end.

In the second of the Domestic Diva mysteries, our heroine Sophie Winston is struggling to make sure her sister Hannah's wedding goes off smoothly. Planning this wedding has been difficult for her, as she dislikes Hannah's intended, Craig, and secretly hopes that Hannah will change her mind. When Craig's ex-wife is found hanging in a neighbour's backyard, Sophie is certain that the wedding will be cancelled. However, it is not, and although Craig hasn't invited any of his family members to the wedding, his father, uncle and cousin turn up. Sophie is certain that Craig is the killer, especially when another of his relatives is found murdered, but the there are several other possible suspects.I enjoy Davis' writing, and the little tips preceding each chapter, but I find it hard to understand why she puts up with Natasha, her ex-husband's new paramour.

Another fluff book, mindless but fun in it's own way as long as you don't expect to be challenged or characters to behave in anyway resembling realistic and logical. If I didn't enjoy the characters as much as I do, plus the way she describes all the Domestic Diva stuff she does, I probably wouldn't read these books at all.

I'm so glad that I gave this series a second chance. The mystery in this cozy was very interesting and even though you are pretty sure you have the killer pegged, the twist is quite interesting. The characters are much better developed and come to life better in this book for me. I would read the books in order though as the first book definitely introduces you to all the major players in this book and sets the storyline up perfectly. I will say that I wish Sophie wasn't as much of a doormat where her family is concerned. I seriously wanted to slap her sister multiple times! Her passive aggressive mother who can't seem to stop picking on Sophie about her appearance made me want to scream, but I can totally relate. All in all, a very entertaining read and I'm looking forward to Diva #3.

Between 3.5 and 4 stars. I liked it but it also drove me crazy! Natasha and Hannah were too much at times. All ended good.

I would have given my sister & Natasha a bit more grief than Sophie. She is portrayed as a strong divorced woman but does need to stand up for herself more & tell Wolf she likes him.

A lot goes on in this book, both mysterious and fun. I particularly like the advice from the 2 domestic divas.

I have read both of Krista Davis's books and have enjoyed them thoroughly! As soon as I finish a chapter and want to take a break, there is a cliff hanger, and I have to read the next chapter! I read each book in one sitting and hated when the book was finished. I enjoyed the characters - you could imagine each one very well. The plot was quick and fun, and you just felt like you were in Sopie's cozy kitchen eating delicious comfort food! I can't wait until Davis's next book comes out! I have purchased several copies to give to my mother, my sisters-in-law, my nieces and my coworkers - they've all enjoyed them.

i so tried to get into this cozy. i love the premise ,catering , small group of people etc. but the main character was such a doormat it made my teeth ache. over and over her sister treated her like dirt, the comical natasha never really got a comeuppance for her stuff either..no more for me ..please don't make women such doormats......
