Why are we here? Who really wrote the Bible? Was Jesus actually a messenger of God? Can science and religion be reconciled? Do we have free will? Divine Wisdom and Warning: Decoded Messages from God introduces a new way of using the ancient system of Gematria to solve these and other timeless questions. Nicholas Gura has developed an original technique, easily reproducible without the use of computers, that uncovers hidden, encoded messages in the Bible. These mathematically generated messages are both profound and metaphoric and will contribute to the meaning, quality, and purpose of our lives. Divine Wisdom and Warning reveals new insights on the parting of the Red Sea, suffering, quantum physics, the environment, treatment of women, and answers the eternal question: What is God’s true religion?

Reviewed by Roy T. James for Readers' Favorite Divine Wisdom and Warning: Decoded Messages from God by Nicholas Gura analyzes the Bible using numerical values of letters. In doing so, the author is able to establish connections between many words or phrases of the Bible and many expressions having direct relevance to the sense evinced by the biblical phrase. Nicholas has analyzed many such word combinations and in all cases the relationship between the number represented by the biblical phrase and intelligible statements having the same numerical value seem to show a meaningful connection. Even when the author chose words at random, like corruption or anti-Semitism, the words or phrases from the Bible having numerical parity seem to tilt towards meaningful results. Nicholas Gura has made a strong case for looking to the Bible for answers for a few more of the troubles we are likely to face in the days to come. By choosing issues that are nonreligious as well as widely known, like quantum mechanics, he seems to have succeeded in giving greater acceptability and reach to his findings. However, the explanations given in the book do not cover all cases of numerical equivalence. Such numerical comparison, however, is a new and different approach with a lot of scope for further research. This is a thorough dissertation in a clear, concise manner and the book is worth the effort.
This book has the power of a breaking wave, and the tenderness of a sage. The message develops fast, but gradually; finally the book is a speeding train your should jump aboard. The author galvanizes 6,000 years of Jewish thought with 21st Century algorithms and analysis. You will find it a rich treasure if you are simply curious and inquiring, about the world we live in, and the human condition.
Many authors claim to reveal mystical secrets whose knowledge can change a person’s perception of life. In “Divine Wisdom and Warning,” Nicholas Gura makes no such contention; in fact, he advises the reader to remain skeptical as he mathematically proves that the Bible contains Divine messages. This work actually altered the way that I think and experience the world. The beauty of the messages compelled me to realize that God exists. I now understand that I have free will, and that my acts of kindness toward other people determines my relationship with God.
