We haven't even booked our cruise for 2011 yet, but my mind is racing with anticipation and excitement as each page brings Egypt to life. Can't wait to experience even a fraction of the history within these pages. From the historical review and timelines, to the quick facts, helpful maps, descriptive call-outs,to the stunning photography, useful diagrams and directories, this guide has it all. My bookshelves are stuffed with Eyewitness Travel Guides--reminders of breathtaking sights and wonderful memories. They're "just enough" in terms of information--the width and length of the paragraphs are perfect for bite-sized nuggets of information; and the accompanying photos and artwork throughout leave you wanting to hit the road right now. When it comes to visual stimulation and practical ideas for safety, shopping, cuisine, understanding local customs and language, no one beats these terrific guidebooks. Even with increasingly stringent luggage weight restrictions, I will never leave home without my local Eyewitness guide. "Egypt" is certainly no exception.
