Enjoyed the book Ty the singer meets the woman of his dreams to find she's in all kinds of trouble. He ensures she's taken care of and protects her and her child. Loved the story and enjoyed the book. I bought it on another site but I wanted to share the love for the book here.

Leah, Tyler, and the sweetest little Gracie are worth getting to know. I was already a fan of June Faver, so I knew to expect a sweet story turning into fast, exciting ride. This was a fun book to read. I had some interruptions while reading the first third, but things quickly got dicey which kept me glued to the pages. Leah, Tyler, and the sweetest little Gracie are worth getting to know. I'm already pre-ordering the next book in the series!

I loved this story and hope that there will be follow up stories on the rest of Ty's family! This is a family everyone will want to revisit! This was definitely about overcoming adversity and family. It's a wonderful story.

I did enjoy this book but there were times where it got slow and repetitive. They way they fall for each other is a little fast also. But in the end, it was a good story with a lot of twist and turns.

This author has always been one of my favorites. In reading Do or Die Cowboy, I found characters I could form feelings for across the board, love or hate, the emotion was there. She made me cry a couple of times and that doesn't happen often . The characters were brought into the story line when they needed to be there, and not before. The sensuality was present and kept the story line weaving through the book, enticing me to continue, to see if it culminating in a happy ending, which I knew it would, I have one favorite scene in the book. While I won't give it away, I will tell you it involves Ty and his dad, Big d reasoning. I would so recommend this book to my friends and I'll probably read it again.

I really loved the cover of this book. The blurb sounded really good as well so I went for this novel by a new to me author. This is the story of Ty and Leah's romance. It is a fairly tame story all things considered, not completely fade to black but in no way descriptive or intense intimate scenes. Ty happens upon Leah and her daughter when finally deciding to take his shot at a music career. He buys their meal as they appear scared and low on cash...just a great guy helping out someone needing a hand. Leah and her daughter are running away from Caine, the man who raped and later assaulted Leah as well as harmed the child. Ty then comes upon the two stranded on the side of the road. Again he is ever the gentleman and helps out. His music career is put on hold and then hits several bumps as he falls for Leah and deals with the chaos which follows. Leah had moved in with her Gran who happens to have a couple enemies, the Carters. With so many enemies about, the problems are certain to follow. There is some angst and a lot of sweet behavior on Ty's part. He does come and go with his music but always has a backup plan and comes back immediately when trouble hits. His character was my favorite part of the book. Leah has been beaten down so many times and just comes across so weak and timid. She finally gets a backbone at the most ridiculous time and ends up in hot water again. But in the end she does redeem herself a bit. I enjoyed this story. If there was a bit more fact checking, I think I would have enjoyed it more...But I suppose not everyone will pick up on the errors as I did. Overall, sweet romance and enjoyable read.

Not all knights come riding a white charger. When it’s Tyler, he comes with a guitar and a dual cab pickup truck pulling a horse trailer. From the first moment that Tyler catches sight of Leah and Gracie, he knows things are not as they should be. The more he learns, the more angrier he becomes and the more he wants to protect the two. Ty is the hero everyone wants to meet in their life. A genuine good-guy.With all the mayhem of fist fights and murders, it’s anything but a smooth ride for the couple. Add in an adorable child, a grandmother ready to protect everyone and you have one enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book. It’s a great afternoon read.

I thought this was a pretty good read. I did feel it was rushed at times but it was still very entertaining. With Leah's background I'm not sure the insta-love aspect was believable but considering what she's been through you wanted her to have that happy. Tyler was a great character. So kind and giving, he was just the kind of man that Leah needed in her life to help her heal. Overall the writing was good, the characters developed nicely, and the story was fun with a nice easy pace. I would definitely recommend this one.

The cowbell on the door at Tiny's diner in Langston, TX sounded and cowboy/singer Tyler Garrett looked to see who was walking into the diner. Tyler didn't recognize the lovely woman or the child who entered but he did see the fear in their eyes. Having a White Knight personality, Ty wanted to do something to erase that fear but the best he could do is pay for their meals. They left before Tyler but did stop to say thank you. Tyler meets them again further down the road when he finds them with their broken-down car. He sees the car needs a part so he tows them to their destination - Gran's ranch. Leah Benson and her daughter Gracie are very grateful and Gran invites Ty to dinner in gratitude. Ty has a few days to spare before heading to Dallas for his tryout for Texas Country Star. After all Ty is very attracted to Leah. He needs to see where this attraction leads them. Do or Die Cowboy is book #1 in author June Faver's Dark Horse Cowboys series. June Faver is a new author to me. The blurb for this book enticed me to check it out. I am now a June Faver fan. She does a super job of fleshing out her characters. They just sort of reach out and draw you in. This is a very entertaining story with some surprises snuck in. The 'Wow I didn't see that coming" kind! If you enjoy fun characters and heart-warming romance then this is the book for you.

Leah and Gracie are on the run from a frightful past. Tyler is chasing a dream and trying to get out from under his father's thumb. When they meet along the way, Tyler sees and feels the fear the mother and daughter are living in. He temporarily puts his dream on the back burner to save her. The author develops each character with well. The supporting cast is great, Gran being my favorite. My hope is that Beau and Colton, Tyler's brothers, get their own story. While this is a nice book, it slow down in some spots. It is not, however, on my reread list. The angst in the story was a bit contrived and I knew what was going to happen before it did. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This book was ok, not fantastic but not I don't think that it deserves two stars. So we meet Tyler who is on his way to become a music star that has always been his dream, one that his mother always told him to pursue and always had faith in him, his father on the other hand thought he was wasting his time and throwing away his life, when Tyler left they were not on good terms. While en route he sees Leah and her daughter and the fear he saw in them broke his heart, he ends up helping her on the road to her grandmothers. These two had an insta-love like in a day they were in love but they had to overcome obstacles all around them and there were many.

Tyler grew up as the middle son in a wealthy ranching family in Montana. While his brothers seem to have ranching in their blood, Tyler feels that singing is what is in his. Since his mom died, things have been tense in the family with Tyler feeling that he takes the brunt of his father's mood because he doesn't want to ranch. After another argument, Tyler packs up and takes off to Dallas to work on a singing career and try out for Country Idol. When he stood to eat in town, he sees a woman who catches his attention because of her beauty and also because she and the little girl she is with look scared to death. Leah is mom to 8 year old Gracie. They are fleeing Gracie's abusive father. They are going to live with Leah's grandma, Fern. With only a few dollars to her name, Leah stops at a diner. As she is trying to figure out the best thing she can afford to order, Tyler buys them both dinner. She is touched by his generosity and embarrassed that she couldn't provide for her daughter. After they leave, their car breaks down outside of town. Luckily Tyler pulls up behind them. He pulls her car the few miles to get grandma's farm. He is struck by his run down it is and decides to stay a few days to help out. The book is ok. Definitely not the worst I've ever read. The writing is simple and the relationship between the two main characters was too fast. The story needed more development. The characters of the antagonists, as well as the other characters lacked depth. I found myself thinking why or why don't they... And a peeve of mine- it's not a clip, it's a magazine. This story has potential but falls short.

Do or Die Cowboy by June Faver Dark Horse Cowboy #1 Tyler “Ty” Garrett has a dream and nothing will stand between him and finding out whether or not he can make it as a country singer. He has his sights on being the next Country Idol winner and is on his way to Dallas to see a buddy to make that happen. Withy Lucky his dog in the truck cab beside him and Prince his stallion in the trailer behind him he has left the family ranch behind even though it has alienated his father. Pulling in for a meal he sees a woman and her daughter that seem to be running scared and then he sees them again and does the good Samaritan thing only to find that he is drawn to Leah and her daughter Gracie in a way that makes getting to Dallas sooner rather than later a whole lot more difficult. Leah is on the run and has a truly evil man close behind her. When she gets to what she believes will be a safe haven she realizes that there is more than the one evil man to contend with. Leah has had a rough life but makes the best of situations she finds herself in and with a fierce mama love she will do just about anything to keep her daughter Gracie safe. So…will Ty give up his dreams or head to Dallas? If he goes in pursuit of his dreams then who will keep Leah safe? I enjoyed this story and since it is fiction and a way to escape kind of overlooked the believability factor. If you are looking for an escape with a handsome country singer being alpha for the woman he falls for rather quickly then this book might be for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars

A beautiful, damaged woman on the run from heartache and abuse, her child’s safety her top priority. A handsome cowboy heading to make his fame and fortune as a singer, composer, DO OR DIE COWBOY by June Faver should be that romance that sends my heart into overdrive, because who doesn’t love the strength of a cowboy hero? Leah Benson and Tyler Garrett DO seem to fill that emptiness each has in their hearts, but after what Leah had been through, the insta-love was too abrupt, too off for me. I did love her grandma, although she was a bit of a throwback to days of yore, wielding that gun around! A fabulous premise that was a little too rushed with no solid back up for many events that happened and a little over-repetition on others. Perhaps as a novella that wouldn't be so stand out for me? That said, it had some very entertaining and intriguing moments and would make for a quick fix for anything "cowboy." I received a complimentary copy from Sourcebooks Casablanca!

The main characters in this story are Tyler Garrett and Leah Benson. Against his father’s wishes, Tyler is leaving behind his father, two brothers and the wealthy ranch life he grew up in, in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer. On his way to Dallas, he meets Leah and her daughter Gracie. Little did either know that their lives will be forever changed. The author’s sensitivity in dealing with abuse, and rape needs to be commended. Here we have two individuals searching for a different future but somehow destiny and fate changes their perspective on what is important. It was a well written story, though at times I felt there was too many description which was a distraction for me. Though not memorable, it is a good story for an afternoon of reading. I received this copy from Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
