Doctor Who: The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner

Mickey is startled to find a statue of Rose in a museum - a statue that is 2,000 years old. The Doctor realizes that this means the TARDIS will shortly take them to Ancient Rome, but when it does, he and Rose soon have more on their minds than sculpture. While the Doctor searches for a missing boy, Rose befriends a girl who claims to know the future. But then the Doctor stumbles on the hideous truth behind the statue of Rose - and Rose herself learns that you have to be very careful what you wish for...

I actually first 'read' this as an audiobook, which I also highly recommend. The story is good, with just enough twist to keep it interesting, and the dialouge had me laughing out loud from time to time. As an American who doesn't get to watch Doctor Who nearly as much as she would like, this book was definately an enjoyable fix.

It feels like watching another episode of Doctor Who. It is so easy to visualize the characters actions and personalities! A must-read for any Whovian!

The Stone Rose is a great book to read. It takes you to Rome where you get to learn history. I loved it because I kept on wanting to read and when I did put the book down I kept thinking of the possibilities of what could happen next.

Another fun jaunt with the Doctor and Rose! This time we're headed to ancient Rome after Mickey discovers a statue in a London museum that bears a striking resemblance to Rose. The adventure takes some twists and a whole lot of timey-wimey turns. Great for a quick read when you're waiting for the TV show to come back on the air!

The action in this was fantastic, with the mystery of the stone Rose deepening throughout the book. It was intriguing, yet paced enough that it never lagged or lost my interest. An excellent story!

Rose is the best companion for the Doctor by far. They were definitely made for one another! I wish she could/would just come back and be with the Doctor.

This story is the first Dr. Who book/audiobook I purchased. It got me absolutely hooked. I still love this story more than any other that I have read or listened to. I really enjoyed that it is set in Earth's past, that it is not very scary, and the story twist near the end. Excellent read or listen!

This is a great book. I love it because sometimes on DW books they portray the Doctor all wrong. This is not the case. Classic Doctor, classic rose, classic mickey and jackie. And i love the heartbreaks and then joy at the end. Ifvyou want more, you have to get the book. After all, SPOILERS!!

I have never read tbe book but I just wanted to correct someone else's comment. Docter is incorrect. It is spelled Doctor. Dalaks is incorrect. It is spelled Daleks. That is all. Btw I LOVE DOCTOR WHO and MATT SMITH!!! P.S. Other than the incorrect spelling, your story is really good!

"Docter,"said Rose. The docter looked toward the vortex of inprisonment. The dalaks would be gone. "NOW,"shouted the docter. "HOLD ON"! Rose began to fly back. As well as the aliens from another galexy. 3 HOURS LATER. Docter who met rose and her family for final good byes. He could not bare it. He had put himself on a hologram. Meaning that he wasn't actully there. After saying good bye,the docter sighed and looked down at his sonic screwdriver. He needed to see what was to come in the future. 6 MONTHS LATER... Manhhatten,1989,augest. The docter and martha ran threw the sewers to the get to the darlak base. But they were too late. The leader had already transformed. A NEW EVILOUTION HAS BEGUN...
