This is a very cute story about a dog named Dody that was trying to find his way home in the rain. When the rain stopped,he was guided home by a rainbow. The story provides a positive message that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s a great story set to music and song that children will love!

This book has a meaningful and positive message: there is hope no matter the circumstance. Its virtue is encased realism as a lonely dog suffers through a variety of hardships, all the while encouraged by the promise of her own rainbow. Life is tough sometimes but there is always hope, and it is often closer than we imagine. This is an uplifting message both to adults and children, and the author presents it with a powerful focus that is refreshing.

Inspirational Tale of a Lost Dog! Dody the lost dog follows a rainbow to help find his way home in this inspirational story, which teaches children to stay positive and remember that a better day is just ahead. My 5-year old loves watching Dody find his way home. I highly recommend this story for your young children too!

Dody is a dog that finds comfort in remembering his rainbow. Though he can’t always see it, thinking of the rainbow helps him. As Dody travels along, lost and trying to find his way back home, he thinks about his rainbow and it gives him hope. He goes through rain, storms, and many different places. Finally, he makes his way back home. Now, safe and sound at home, Dody spots a real rainbow shining across the sky. The music in this story is very soothing. It helps in setting the mood and teaching the lesson that there’s always hope. This is a great inspiration story for children; instilling in them to never stop wishing or hoping. Things can always get better.

After discovering Patricia Derrick online, I researched all her books. All of them have superb illustrations and songs by J-P Loppo Martinez. The CD and pictures that accompany the books make for a truly dynamic learning experience. As a trainer for corporations, I look for books that are exceptional when reading to my own children. Ms. Derrick’s books include every major component to connect and engage children with the story and the characters. In the story of Dody the Dog the music is inspirational. The song is sweet and gentle as Dody experiences some hard times. The rainbow is symbolic of faith, or hope, or a gentle and loving reminder that what he is searching for – home – is just around the corner if he just doesn’t give up. Ms. Derrick’s books are a must for parents who are trying to sew worthy and meaningful values into their children’s lives. Besides, all kids love stories about dogs, and this one makes you truly care for Dody.

I need that rainbow myself sometimes. This book and music are so sweet, with a precious message kids should hear. Children get a little distressed about Dody and what will happen to him, but it’s always worth it once the kids read through to the end. I like using this story as a reminder that even when you can’t see the rainbow, it’s there. The good things are there even when times seem bad. It’s a message that adults forget sometimes, so it means the world for kids to start hearing it early on.
