Overview

Does Jesus really still walk the dark hills? Does he come for broken people like us? What about if we mess
up? Can we be too far gone or too far broken to ever find redemption? We are surrounded by so much
brokenness, pain, and uncertainty. Even worse, many of us have been the cause of the brokenness and pain
for others. Can Jesus really meet us where we are? Is his love still for us?

This work is a journey in answering these questions and more. As a combat veteran and a person who
has made countless mistakes, I attempt to answer these questions. It is a journey that we take together
as we look at Jesus' interactions with people like us. We look at healing together. We affirm that no
matter how broken, no matter all that you have done wrong, God's love is for you. And yes, Jesus does
still walk the dark hills.

About the Author

First-time author, Matthew Pifer, was born and raised in a small town in West Michigan. After some
traumatic events in his childhood, he joined the Marine Corps and served in the infantry for three combat
tours in Iraq. It is in these events from his childhood and military service that strengthened Pifer's
Christian faith, and he seeks to share parts of his story in his first book,Does Jesus Still Walk the
Dark Hills? and in future works to help others in their struggles.

Pifer has a Master's Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Ohio Christian University. He is also married
to his wife, Chandra, and they have two children together, Sam and Emma.
