The Dollhouse Murders I'm going to tell you about a book called the Dollhouse Murders by Betty Ren Wright. There's this girl named Amy she goes to the attic. One day she goes to the attic again to look at the dollhouse and she finds her sister Louann (Amy's sister) there to and Louann and Amy are looking the dollhouse and the light in the dollhouse was on. And then grandma doll started to cry next to the book shelf then all of a sudden the books are starting to fall off. I'm not going to go on more because to know the rest you must read the book. If you like mysteries I would recommend reading the Dollhouse Murders.

Betty Ran Wright wrote the book I read called The Doll House Murders. This book took place in the town of Claiborne. The main character of this story is named Amy Treloar. Amy and her friend Ellen go to the mall and Amy has to bring her little sister Louann. When Amy gets home her mother finds out that Amy lost her sister in the mall. Amy can't stand the way her mother favors Louann so she decides to run away to her aunts house. Amy begs her mother to be able to stay at her Aunt Clair's house for a couple of weeks and finally her mother agrees. Aunt Clair always talks about her grandparents but she won't tell Amy how they died. Amy decides to go to the library to read the old Claiborne newspapers. Amy finds out that her grandparents were murdered but nobody knows who did it. When Amy finds an old dollhouse in her aunt's attic she decides to take the dolls out and play with them. The next day when she goes back to the dollhouse the dolls are in the same place as when the murders happened. This is how the mystery begins. There were positives then negatives in the book. Some of the positives of the book are that there were many different characters that made the book more interesting. The book was scary but that's what made you want to read more. The book was interesting because it was a mystery book. One other thing I liked about the book was that it was hard to tell what was going to happen next. Here are some negatives of the book. The book went by kind of slow and in some parts of the book I got a little confused. There were some things that were hard to understand. Overall the plot was exciting and kept you interested. The way the author wrote made you draw conclusions that kept the murderers identity a secret. The way the book was written was very descriptive. The book pulled you in and made you want to read more. The author also put cliffhangers at the end of most chapters, which made the mystery exciting and interesting. I liked the authors writing style. I recommend this book because it is a mystery book and its very exciting. The books plot pulls you in so you don't want to stop reading. Also I would recommend this book is because it shows that you don't always get what you want and it shows that sometimes you have to do something you don't want to do. You should never give up until you find the answers. Similar novels to this book are The Nancy Drew Series, The Doll In The Garden, and Christians Ghost. Some other novels I recommend are Blubber, Staring Sally J. Freedman as herself, and Number the Stars. I recommend Blubber because it shows that you should you should always stand up for yourself and it only matters about what's on the inside. I also recommend Number the Stars because it is about history and I think it is well written. Lastly I recommend Sally J. Freedman Staring as Herself because it shows sometimes when you do something you don't want to do at the end your glad you did. These are some reasons why I recommended The Doll House Murders.

Who or what is in the dollhouse up in the attic? Is there a message to be heard from what is happening in the dollhouse? *With a gripping, engaging, and engrossing storyline you are sure to enjoy this mystery. *Plenty of suspense to keep you turning the pages to get to the answers to this tale. *Come along with the protagonist and find out what is really happening in the old house with the many years old dollhouse. *A real page-turner, and well written.

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this book because it keeps me and edge. By that i mean it is interesting. Like the one part where you see the light in the dollhouse I could see and imagine it. Another reason I felt sad most of the time. I almost wanted to cry because of her sister Louann. She has a metal disability and makes me think of how good I have it. Another really good reason I liked this book is because it is well written. The way they say everything makes me really have to re-read it once or maybe twice to fully understand this very interesting book. Also how Amy has to deal with being with her sister the entire time makes me think wow, how can you deal with some thing like this all day everyday. To be honest I complained to babysit my little brother sometimes. So all in all I think this book is great it keeps you on end I would recommend this to any of my friends.

I have used this book in my classroom in the past. In fact, I have read to fifth and sixth graders as a Literature Apreciation time. My students thoroughly enjoyed the mystery part of the book. It keeps the young reader engaged and as the story proceeds, the reader tries to guess who the murderer is. In fact, I would have my students guess, by filling out a small piece of paper and collecting the paper to check when the book finally concludes. Also, it gives some insight how a parent can over use a sibbling, especially when the one sibbling is mentally challenged. It is a good book to share-read.

The Dollhouse Murders Do you like books that the author has characters w/ the same problems you & me face in our everyday life? If you do, you will love this book blc, it talks about a girl named Amy & her mentally disabled sister called Lou-Ann. Amy thinks baby-sitting her sister is really a pain, especially when her sister has her dramatic moments. One day in the summer Amy tells her mother how she feels about taking care of her Lou-Ann & ends up at her aunt¿s house. Later she finds out that Lou-Ann is coming, at the same time that Amy is having her birthday party. How is Amy going to react? What will be her feelings against this tragedy? Next time Amy feels like running away, where will she run to? But that is not the only problem, this time in the attic when she plays around w/ the dolls & puts them in a place, when she comes back their in a different place like if they came to life. When Amy tells her aunt, her aunt doesn¿t believe her. What do the dolls want to tell Amy? Is it something her aunt never talks about? Is it something terrible & mysterious? The author¿s style of this book is that she wants to make you part of the story, by writing about problems that you & I face everyday. The author does it really well & good especially w/ the characters feelings, actions & the thoughts of the characters when they are in problems or when the characters are going to solve any mess & problem. I feel that if you have a sibling, you will be able to love this book blc you might be able to connect it to your life. I recommend ¿The Dollhouse Murders¿¿ to every person that has a brother or sister. By the way the author is Betty Ren Wright

My favorite part of the book is when Amy and Ellen went to the library to look at old newspaper tapes because Amy wanted to find out how her great grandparents died. Amy's parents would not tell her what happenened to her great grandparents. When Amy looks at the old newspaper tapes she reads old couple mudered...The rest I will leave it a mystery! All in all I recommend this book to all my freinds because this book is scary good. Betty Ren Wright is a great auther. The next book I will like to read by this auther is Christina's Ghost.

This book was so terrifying for me as a little girl, but not bad enough to give me nightmares. I read it as I was getting too old for the goosebumps books, and right before my Poe and Lovecraft phase. (I was a precoious and mature little monster) anyway, there is a movie version of this somewhere called "secrets in the attic" that is pretty good, the final climactic scene with the dollhouse is pretty dang scary in that as well, so see if you can find that.. but I totally recommend this book to everyone, and am going to have to reread it myself.

'BANG' is it a murder or a car accident? 'Shuffel' is it a mouse or a DOLL moving around with no one touching it? 'WAA' is the doll crying or are you just seeing things? 'BAM' the dolls are dead!!!!!!!! In this suspensful book, Amy has so many troubles going on, she is annoyed with her sister Louann (she is challanged) and her parents get mad at her. The biggest problem of all is that something is moving in the dollhouse and is acting out something gory. Her aunt get's mad at her about moving the dolls. But she hasn't touched them at all. It was all the dolls FAULT! Read this book to find out what happens next!
