About the Author

Virginia Nelson spends her days chasing three very active kids around. When she is not doing this, or plotting taking over the world, she likes to write, play in the mud, drive far too fast and scream at inanimate objects. She can often be found listening to music that is far too loud and typing her next fantastic tale of blood, sex and random acts of ineptitude. Romance, in Ms. Nelson’s opinion, is not about riding off into the sunset on the back of a horse with the knight in shining armor— it is about riding the dragon. If the knight can keep up… well, that is love.

Okay, I bought it for the fun title.  Sex with a ghost?  Didn’t think it possible and still have a happy ending.  But Madame Eve has pulled off stranger things in the past than just helping these two friends become lovers.  This is a quick, hot, fun read.

Reviewed by Melissa D Book provided by Decadent Publishing Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Dom of the Dead part of the 1NightStand series. The series is written by a variety of authors and it is about Madame Eve and her matchmaking skills. I have read several of these books and each interesting. I chose this book because I was curious to see how the story would go. It’s not every day a ghost and person fall in love. Carson has lost her best friend, the one man that she has loved but never told him. She signs up for a date with 1NighStand but is unable to go because her grief is too profound. I found Carson to be a sweet and trusting person. Randall dies in a motorcycle accident never telling his best friend that he loved her. I found Randall not just sexy but also smart. He is following his heart and not what he is supposed to do. The chemistry between Randall and Carson is scorching hot. I loved how they connected and trusted each other even though Carson still thought she was losing her mind. The sex scenes were hot. I loved how Randall improvised when he was not equipped physically. I loved this story. I had a very hard time putting this story down. At 37 pages, this was an interesting story with a great message as well. Overall, I will be on the lookout for more by Ms. Nelson.

When I read the burp that said this was a short book about a love affair between a person and the ghost. I so had to read it, just because I needed to see how that could ever have a HEA! My curiosity has gotten me to read a few books that I needed brain Bleach to recover. Not Dom of the Dead by Virginia Nelson!! I couldn’t put in down. Carlson’s best friend, Randall had died before she could tell him how she felt about him. She is beyond heartbroken. After weeks for grieving, she accepts the fact that she must move on and accepts a date set up by “Madame Eve’s 1 night Service” But once she gets there, Carlson realizes that she just can’t go through with it. All she wanted was Randall. As she goes home and takes a shower, she “hears” Randall. This is where the fun begins. Dom of the Dead is from Both Carlson and Randell’s POV. As Randall watches Carlson’s sorrow and he suffers with her, because he also never told her how he felt. Till the faithful night, when he finally figured out how to connect with Carlson. The shower scene was HOT HOT HOT!! Never thought a sex scene between a ghost and a human could be so sensual. And after seeing both these characters heartbreaking over their lost chance, you can’t help but cheer for them as they finally confess all their desires to each other. Yet, as I was reading, I couldn’t help but to wonder, how the Hell this could have a HEA. Well, I am very happy to report that it DOES and a great one too!!! I applaud you Ms. Nelson for a job well done. It’s not often that I’m totally shocked by an ending but you pulled it off.

So I was skeptical about a story between the living and a ghost working out. I mean how does touching work, how will it work out long term, and so forth. This is part of the 1NS series by Decadent Publishing so there is a set up of one hot night orchestrated by the mysterious Madame Eve. I want to start a slow clap for Ms. Nelson. Seriously, she pulled off ghost sex and made it HOT. Like volcanic, and before that she made me almost cry as I watched Carson grieve for Randall. It’s a fast sexy read, that I can definitely see myself re-reading as a kind of quick comfort read. I recommend this for lovers of the 1NS series and lovers of best friends to lovers stories. These are two best friends who finally realize that their love can transcend their friendship and in this case even the grave.
