What an incredibly inspirational book! So much about the Favre life that you didn't know. They have been through so much, and have proven to be an amazing family. I loved every page of this book.

My son just introduced me to Brett Favre. I was browsing other titles stumbled on this and ordered it. Could not put it down. Read in two days and savored every word. Normally I pass on books to others this I can not as I will refer to her scriptural applcations to a variety of life's experiences not just cancer which I have not 'thank God' had. I will buy this as gifts for many friends. Never does she come off as a celebrity not once! You feel as if you could live next door to her. Thank you Deanna for being so open and generous with your spirit. Know you have your readers trust!

I read the book in a few days, she's a strong woman with alot of courage and inspires other woman to follow her lead. She has such a positive outlook in life and believes deeply in Gid and her faith. Very enjoyable read and very inspiring. Definately a book well worth reading and keeping.

Summary: Deanna Favre relates her struggles with her husband's drug addiction, their early years of marriage, raising a family in the NFL and her breast cancer. The Take-Away: I didn't care for this book. Maybe it was the presumptuous exclamation point at the end of the title. Perhaps it was my initial assumption of "What makes her story different, other than who she is married to?" I read the book based on the recommendation of two very different women. Their combined opinions made me think it would be worthwhile.Instead, I kept wondering about the women who didn't have Deanna's privileges. Sure, she struggled as a single mother, while Brett treated her badly, but doesn't every woman have at least one bad relationship in their lifetime? Her's turned out better than most, I admit. Her faith in God oozed into every aspect of her life, which is great for those who trust in a higher being, but what about those who don't? It was over the top at times, even for my weak faith.Throughout the whole story, I kept wondering what made her different. I'm glad that enough women take her message about breast exams to heart and get their own checks. But is Deanna Favre any different than another high profile woman with cancer? Maybe that's the point. Personally, I didn't think it was enough of a story. In the end, while her struggle was unfortunate, I didn't see the value of her story. I didn't see what made her different.Recommendation: Skip it, unless you have a great interest in the Favre family. Deanna's story isn't that strong.

What probably started out to be how one woman, and her family, dealt with her cancer has instead turned out to be an excellent work on an individual's spirituality in the face of calamitous news. Possibly ignored by many because the author is the wife of one of the most famous jocks in America, it is a loss to those who thought so. Deanna Favre has built an incredibel personal history, which of course includes referrences to her famous husband. I think those who have read it have been deeply surprised, I know I was.

When Deanna Favre ,the wife of Green Bay Packers former quarterback Brett Favre, was diagnosed with breast Cancer in late 2004, her diagnosis was quickly publically known .Now one of the best breast cancer speakers, Deanna Favre has written an inspiring novel titled Deanna Favre, Don’t Bet Against Me!: Beating the Odds Against Breast Cancer and in Life. Deanna's story shares the role God and prayers have played in her life along with her many stuggles. The reader follows Deanna though her story and life as a single mom as well as her marriage to a quarterback and the deaths of many loved ones. I enjoyed this memoir because Deanna really inspires people to make the best of what you are given. Personally I would recommend this book to any girl who desires to be inspired.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I do not have breast cancer but it sure opened my eyes, brought new respect for Deanna Favre and all breast cancer survivors. Her "inspirations", the way the story about her and Brett's life, marriage were told gave me a eye opening look at their marriage, family and faith. What a wonderful family blessed with two beautiful daughters. Enjoyed all the pictures in the book, also their letters to Deanna. I have a new respect for the "Favre" family, with their on going giving, fund raising, donations of their time etc. to all their causes over the years to help the less unfortunate. It was so great to read this. So "Deanna" thank you for writing this story about your breast cancer and sharing your family this way with all of us! Being a Minnesota Vikings football fan for years now we have enjoyed watching your husband Brett play here in Minnesota. So thank you Favre's and we hope you will enjoy your time here in our beautiful state of Minnesota. God bless you always.

I just finished reading this book in a few days because I couldn't put it down. It's has the courage, strength, spirit in god, and prayer to get anyone through their good time and bad plus how Deanna Favre challenged breast cancer and sharing her experience with others and getting the word out and helping others. 'Great job Deanna for sharing your story to us.' I was very interested reading all about breast cancer and she fully got everything a woman should know about breast cancer and getting through it. I hope all women read this it's a must!

I read this book in 1 day. Deanna is truly inspiring. This book is uplifting. She really opens up about her life the good times & bad. She demonstrates that no matter your social status, all of us have trails in our lives. She is a true survivor.

The words coming to mind after reading 'Don't Bet Against Me' are 'a woman of substance'. Believing that I would read a book about a woman mounting a valliant fight against breast cancer, there was so much more. Deanna's life is far more than that of being the wife of the deservingly renowned Brett Favre. She is a faith-filled woman who in not ashamed to share her belief in God's will, whatever that may entail with each tragedy their families faced. The inclusion of 'How To' segments as well as the Appendices including breast cancer terminology, reference notes and spiritually-uplifting passages, added a dimension that requires everyone, cancer or cancer-free, to embrace her message.
