Read it because I LOVED the first book: DON'T LOOK AWAY.... ...but unfortunately, this 2nd book in the series didn't grab me the way the first one did. DON'T LOOK AWAY rated a solid 5 stars for me, and this one was simply not as oh-my-gosh-I-can't-put-this-book-down-out-of-this-world-outstanding. The suspense was still good, the plot was still interesting--it's just sad that the first was so incredible that the second couldn't measure up (IMHO). The plot line continues from the first book, but I do believe (because the backstory is so complete) that DON'T EVER STOP could be enjoyed as a stand-alone read. Because Leslie A. Kelly (and Leslie Kelly)'s work is so extraordinary, I was surprised to find editing errors (i.e., Sykes --when Sloan should've been used, table vs. tablet, etc.). Not sure why misspellings and misuse of character names got through the final edit, but they did. I see that other reviewers have caught similar editing problems (incorrect usage of 1st villain's surname). One more really good read by someone who catches glitches like this would've contributed significantly. Sincere compliments for this title: ~ Very powerful ending ~ Characterizations remained true from book 1 to book 2 (recurring main characters in particular) ~ LOVED the near-future scientific development that makes for super-creepy crimes and the solving of those crimes ~ Seriously flawed and seriously sympathetic characters ~ The romance between Sloan and Sykes is coming along in a most rewarding fashion Even though I didn't LOVE this one as much as it's predecessor, I highly recommend it to fans of romantic suspense and thrillers. ~Kristin
