Don't Swap Your Sweater for a Dog (Roscoe Riley Rules Series #3) by Katherine Applegate, Brian Biggs

The third book in a hilarious chapter book series about an accidental rule breaker from Katherine Applegate, Newbery Medal–winning and bestselling author of The One and Only Ivan, Endling, and Wishtree.

It seems like everyone has an award of some kind. Except Roscoe. But a pet-trick contest is coming up, and first prize is a big, shiny trophy. Roscoe really wants that trophy—would he even borrow someone else’s dog to win?

Roscoe and his comical misadventures will appeal to fans of Megan McDonald’s Stink series; Nancy Krulik’s George Brown, Class Clown series; Rebecca Elliott’s Owl Diaries series; and Dan Gutman’s My Weirder School series.

Chapter One

Welcome to Time-Out

Hey! Want to play?

Oops. I mean, want to play when I'm done with time-out?

I sort of kind of got in some trouble again.

'Cause I sort of kind of borrowed somebody's dog.

I only borrowed him so I could win a trophy.

A shiny, sparkly, silver trophy.

You've probably borrowed a dog before, right?

A cat? A gerbil? A tarantula?

Oh. Well, I had my reasons.

It's a long story, actually.

Usually when I end up in time-out, there's a long story to tell.

And since you're here anyway, I'll bet you'd like to hear it. . . .

I thought it was a hilarious book!!!!! I also thought it tought you a good lesson. If your a kid or if you have kids and they have a dog and they want another one, tell them to read this book. When they're done ask them how there old dog would feel if they would ignore them if they got a new dog. I hope you enjoy this book!!!! I also hope that this comment helped you with your desision! BTW: (Its a short chapter book. I read it in a day!) Thank You for Reading this Comment!

After purchasing the first book in the series at the school book fair I searched everywhere for the series. I found only some of the books. Barnes and Noble was able to order the other books and have them to us within a week. My son actually asked to keep going every time he finished a chapter. He laughed and smiled the whole time.
