Overview

Don't Walk Away (DreamMakers, #3) by Vivian Arend, Elle Kennedy

Book 3 of the DreamMakers. A red-hot collaboration from New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors VIVIAN AREND and ELLE KENNEDY.

He wants to rock her world—in bed and out of it

For former Army Ranger Dean Colter, sexual escapades and wild flirtations are the norm—but it wasn't always that way. Years ago, the DreamMakers co-owner was a one-woman kind of guy until he tore Emma Lee's heart apart. Yet he's never forgotten her, and when Emma waltzes back into his life, a second chance is suddenly within his reach…and he'll be damned if he'll screw up again.

She wants her world to stop spinning apart

Emma's no longer the naïve girl she used to be. Now a successful designer in the fashion world, she refuses to let Dean's killer smile and sweet-talking ways distract her from her goals. But being the target of Dean's full-out seduction isn't easy to resist, even as the dynasty she's built teeters toward disaster. This time she might the one who breaks both their hearts when she has to walk away.

Love the series so far!

## I did not like this book. At all. First, Dean was such a man-whore it disgusted me. Everywhere he and the heroine went, they would run into another woman he fu*ked. Why would any woman want a guy inside her that has been inside THAT many women. Ewwww. And the reason he left her 11 years ago was contrived for sure. And Emma forgives without thought. He abandones her without a single word the day they are supposed to move in together, yet she "understands" why he left. Bleh. Also, there was no conflict. What gives? And lastly but probably most importantly, these two didn't have any chemistry. I need sexual chemistry between my hero and heroine. Skip this one, I wish I had.

My Thoughts: I just found out about this series recently and had to get a hold of one of them at some point soon. When it came up on NetGalley, I thought it was worth checking out now. I found that it was definitely worth it! It all starts with a sexy kiss in the dark... and leads to the discovery that Emma knows Dean--he's the guy who broke her heart. She wants to put it all behind her, but when they run into each other again, this time him realizing it's her, he doesn't want to let her go this time. So he goes out of his way to get back in her life and convince her to give him a second chance. It doesn't take long before they realize they can't stay away from each other. Don't Walk Away is a sweet second chance romance. I loved to see Emma and Dean fall back together, watch them work everything out. The only thing that threw me off was the few chapters that were told from other character's points of view. Otherwise, it was a great story by Elle Kennedy and Vivian Arend--I can't wait to read the rest from DreamMakers series! My Rating: Very Good

I always get sucked in when characters come into a book with a broken history. Probably because a skilled author uses the opportunity to fix a problem, rather than dwell in past mistakes. And Vivian Arend and Elle Kennedy are skilled authors who manage to merge two styles into a seamless work. Dean Colter is currently a footloose bachelor and part owner of the Dressmakers, a private company aimed at investigating and fixing problems. But prior to working for the company, he was in love with his high school sweetheart, Emma Lee, and together they planned to marry and grow old together. However Dean got cold feet and left Emma, with little explanation. Fast forward 10 years and Emma is now a successful fashion designer in the midst of a breakthrough when she runs into Dean at a mutual friends party. Immediately they are both reminded of their chemistry and history. For Dean, Emma was the one who got away because of his immaturity. For Emma, Dean was a mistake that she never understood. This was a breezy read that felt like a novella, even though it was billed as a full length novel. Despite the shortness of the book. The characters felt fully drawn and the conflict was worked through with minimal issues. If you want something short, sweet and sexy, I would recommend. This title is part of a series but the previous novels do not need to be read for you to understand the story. Reviewer received ARC on Netgalley.

Dean and Emma are looking for a second chance, after a rocky past. An easy, fun, sexy read. Emma hanging on to the past and making comparisons between past and present was a bit annoying. Overall it was a good read.

This second chance romance is a sexy, romantic treat, and third in the DreamMakers series. This time it's Dean's turn, only wouldn't you know, the woman he meets in a haunted house in the dark just happens to be his old high school sweetheart. But he left her and his life with her behind, breaking her heart. Finding Emma again after all this time, and finally being able to explain what happened and why he left her is fine - but can he convince her to give him another chance? I think this is my favourite of the series to date. They've all had a little something fun and sexy about them, but seeing Dean brought to his knees by this petite spitfire was something else. She's totally within her rights to never give him the time of day again but the reality is that despite her broken heart, she's never really lost the love she had for him - and he for her, as it turns out. Dean's got a lot to do to convince Emma that he's changed, that he can make things good for them again. Along the way, it's a sexy fun ride. Their love scenes are hot and steamy (as expected) but Dean also shows a tender and caring side that's been missing in his normal playboy antics. I liked the camaraderie he shares with the other guys and there were some interesting tidbits from other character's points of view to show where the series is headed. Lots of fun scenes, laughter and great sex. 5 stars.

3.5 Stars Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog I admit that even though I’ve been a fan of both of these authors for a long while, I have dragged my butt in starting this series.  Why????  The DreamMakers series has such a fun premise.  Three ex military dudes find themselves back home after their service and needing to come up with something to do.  So they start a dating service.  Naturally!  LOL I think that’s brilliant and now having read this book I’ll rectify my mistake and go back and read books 1 and 2. That being said, DON’T WALK AWAY is a sweet second chance romance story.  You know I’m a sucker for those.  And this is so sweet!  Dean Colter is now a manwhore extraordinaire but deep down there’s only been one woman he’s loved since forever.  Since the days when he wasn’t a player and waited years to take one girls’ virginity.  Since he made a huge mistake and lost the love of his life.  He’s never been able to even apologize since.  But life has a way of dumping Emma back on his lap.  And this time Dean is determined from the get-go to keep her there. I loved Emma’s character.  She’s just tough enough but full of female empowerment.  She’s become successful on her own and taken from life what she deserved.  Now that she has the man she once loved and broke her heart delivered on a platter, she’s also woman enough to take what he’s offering.  There isn’t a lot of fighting attractions and rehashing the past, which sometimes can bug down a story.  Just two great characters reconnecting and rekindling their love. Another thing I loved?  The camaraderie between the whole cast of characters.  We see glimpses from the previous two couples, as well as two upcoming couples, and the friendship between the whole gang is one of my favorite things.  It’s definitely an element I always look for in a good contemporary romance and gives this book an instant feeling of comfort for me. If you like your heroes big, sexy and alpha and the chemistry steaming up off the pages then look no further than DON’T WALK AWAY!  You’ll be hooked like I was! *ARC provided by author

I loved reading this book. Dean & Emma's love story was so much fun! It was entertaining to read Dean coming out of his player days. Made me laugh & have a smile on my face all the way to the end! Extra bonus was revealing more of the other characters! This CAN NOT be the last of the series!! All 3 books are a MUST read!!

Don't walk away is a nice and easy to read romance novel. The story is well written and the plot is well developed. It is part 3 of a series and although you do notice that there were previous books during reading, it does not disturb the flow too much so it is also readable as a standalone. The Idea of having a second chance on your first love is intriguing and therfore the plot itself is a very good one. The reader follows Deans journey back in Emmas heart. And he really uses all his skills to get what he wants. I enjoyed the book. The only thing that disturbed my reading a little was the odd chapter numbering and the way the story of other people was included (which goes hand in hand). I would have prefered the story of the other people to be "more" included or totally left out. > > > I have received this Book as an ARC from the Publisher < < < > > > In Exchange I promised an honest Review < < <

Sweet and Hot!!! Here we have book 3 in the DreamMakers series and it focuses on Dean. After seeing the happiness his two best friends are experiencing... Dean is feeling a bit out of sorts... he wants that special someone in his life too. Then at a costume party his group is hosting, he meets a woman that intrigues him... gone in a blink of an eye, he does some digging to find her... A blast from his past, his teenage love, Emma. We see them both work through their feelings and see if they can get over the past... Each are different people today... Is the love they had for each other still there? I love all of the characters in the series... these wonderful authors bring them to life and make their stories so gripping! I had to read this in one sitting! Really loved seeing how things unfolded for Dean and Emma! Always great to see what the others at DreamMakers are up to too! I can not wait for book 4 Gillian's story... More Please!!!

Don't Walk Away is the third and final book in the DreamMakers trilogy from authors Vivian Arend and Elle Kennedy. Each book focuses on one of the three owners of DreamMakers, an event planning service that arranges all kinds of dates for men that don't have the time or creativity to do it themselves. Ex-army rangers Parker Wilson, Jack Hunter and Dean Colter are best friends and equal partners, using their charm, wit, and military skill to gain client after client. Don't Walk Away is about Dean and his former love, Emma Lee. After eleven years of separation, they rekindle a spark that leads to a future of happiness. Emma is a talented fashion designer that prefers anonymity. As a result, she does all the style creation, while her partner Lorenzo Fuoco is the public face of their Fire and Ice design label. Up until recently, their arrangement has been very successful. Unfortunately, Lorenzo has evolved into an uncontrollable diva, which is causing their business relationships to unravel. Emma knows she needs to dissolve their partnership, but she is reluctant to do so. All she is needs a little push, and that is where Dean comes into the picture. Years ago, Dean abruptly left his hostile home and Emma, in order to ensure a safe future for the two of them. After serving in the military, he is now a successful businessman with a playboy lifestyle that has kept him satisfied for many years. When Emma accidentally enters his life for a second time, he realizes that he never stopped loving her and does everything in his power to make her his once again. Emma and Dean are a hot couple both in and out of the bedroom. Their smarts, good looks, lively banter and genuine love for each other, create their potential for happiness. Not to mention the scorching heat that constantly surrounds them. I really liked this reunion romance. I was fortunate to have read the first two books in the series and Don't Walk Away ends up being my favorite. I found the way the authors brought Emma and Dean together to be very quite original and fun. I liked them from the very first chapter as individuals and as a couple. Emma and Dean are exciting and their unique relationship kept me wanting more. Each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. This is another well-written book from authors Vivian Arend and Elle Kennedy. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I really liked how Vivian and Elle set the scene for the initial part of Don't Walk Away.  It's a fun one that made me dive right in!  A second chance at love, this time as adults, is what Don't Walk Away is all about.  I really enjoyed the fast pace, the characters and the chemistry between them.  After years apart, the chemistry is just as strong, if not stronger.  Emma is still nursing a broken heart though, and Dean is going to have to find a way to prove to her that he won't walk away this time around if she will only take the a chance with him. I liked both of these characters.  They have both obviously matured from the teenagers they were.  Emma has done well for herself, even if her professional life is a bit chaotic right now.  Seeing Dean in San Francisco is unexpected, and brings back a lot of old heart ache.  I didn't like how she still held a grudge, especially when Dean had tried to contact her previously, but her character showed strength and maturity in that she didn't dwell on it too long and was able to move away from that and into life today.  I liked how she didn't immediately cave to the combustible attraction between them, but was cautious.  Even when her feelings for Dean were still so strong.    Dean has quite the reputation as a lady's man, and it's something he's out to prove is no longer true.  He is determined, romantic, and wants to be with Emma again...even before he knew who she was he was hot for her.  I like how both of these main characters don't pretend to be someone they're not, they are honest about things, everything is out in the open now. I felt like the length of the book was perfect for Dean and Emma's story.  It wasn't a story that needed to be dragged out or explored indepthly...it just was. There are a lot of secondary characters in Don't Walk Away with sub plots and various POV's being told.  I'd recommend reading the first two books in this series first to understand them all.  I liked the connection between all the characters and their friendship.  The opening of Don't Walk Away was just as fun as the ending! With a mix of humor, love, and real life, I'd recommend Don't Walk Away to any romance reader who likes a lot of heat between characters looking for a second chance at love together.

Emma and Dean were each others first love. They expected to be together forever but eleven years and two broken hearts later and we find that not to be true. Dean left Emma behind for reasons beyond his control. Yet he never forgot her and seeing her years later makes him sure that he will do whatever it takes to get her back. But will Emma be receptive. I received this book for an honest review. This story was a hot and steamy read but proved to be about so much more. Definitely worth reading.
