This is a great book for on the road. You can doodle anywhere without the cumbersome of a book you would have to hold open. Just bring a pen and paper. I have used napkins or the back of food receipts.
I recently got this book and loved it. I have read several other machine quilting books but this has been my favorite so far. I appreciated that each "doodle" was explained. I appreciated that the author then explained how to build a larger design by linking the doodles together. Breaking it down in step by step pieces was very helpful for me. It was a book I read from cover to cover. I plan on using many of the designs.
