The book has a square shape with a handle, making it resemble a lunch box or, actually, a sandwich. Dora is all excited because her Papi is making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Mami had created a special treata cupcake with pink frosting and little sprinkles. Of course there is a healthy part of the lunch, too, because Dora's pal Boots picks a banana for her lunch. When the time comes, Dora and her friends are all enjoying their lunches around a big table. The added attraction is the press-out pieces: a sandwich, cupcake, banana, and a note that her parents tucked inside the lunch box. Unfortunately when the pieces are removed the place underneath is blank, so if they get lost a lot of the fun of the book is gone. It all closes with a Velcro seal, but may not be sufficient to keep the lunchbox and all its contents intact. 2006, Simon Spotlight/Simon & Schuster, Ages 2 to 4.
