This is a wonderful story of a young Gypsy girls experience growing up during the Second World War then in the Soviet Arctic and finally within the civilized world of St. Petersberg and the rarefied world of ballet and formal dressage. Reminiscent of all the old Russian masters this is a book worth reading.
