3.5 stars. A good book but not the best in the series. The main character has become more like her counterpart, the irritating Bianca.

Once again, Davis Way, Fantasy, Baylor and No Hair are trying to save the casino. Bradley (Davis' husband) is now the manager and they are working together. Being newlyweds, this might not be the best idea. When the events manager disappears, the vault is robbed and Davis and Bradley are living at the casino in the managers suite that looks like New Orleans spewed all over, you know there is going to be mayhem. Add in that Davis is sure Magnolia, the previous manager's wife, is sneaking into their apartments, Biana Sanders is still as crazy as ever and there is a rather crazy pilot helping them out and the laughs are also there. This story has a more serious take on it than previous ones, but Davis still bumbles her way into and out of trouble. Someone had to find the missing platinum and Davis is sure the Banking Conference has something to do with it. Missing guests, counterfeit money and a printing room found hidden in their quarters gets Davis up in arms, especially when Bradley tells her to butt out. The characters in this story are fleshed out a bit more. We find out about Fantasy's home life and family, and she makes a big mistake in this book that could cost her a lot. Baylor comes across as a young, dumb, bodyguard type character in this story, even more than the last one, but comes through when he is needed. Bradley and Davis show some sides of their relationship that we have not seen before and it adds some dimension to Bradley. Finally, Bianca actually had me feeling a bit sorry for her. The new characters in this story were portrayed well, some funny, some nasty. The plot moved quickly as there was a lot going on, but it was not confusing. Once again, I enjoyed the escapades of Davis and her team. I can't wait to see what Gretchen Archer has in mind for her next story.

I loved this book! Her new home is fantastic... I won't ruin the surprise! But it's a typical Davis disaster. You will be laughing from start to finish! If you haven't read this whole series, I suggest you pick up the first book in the series, Double Whammy!

LAUGH UNTIL YOU CRY -- SO MUCH FUN!! The Davis Way Crime Capers are one of my all time favorite series. I'm not just a casual reader as I've read 6 books this past week. This series ALWAYS has me laughing until I have tears running down my face! Today I had a moment where I was so caught up in Davis Way Cole's Caper I caught myself laughing loudly. It wouldn't have been so bad but I wasn't sequestered in my private reading nook -- I was in a public place! Archer's writing is that GOOD!! She continues to come up with excellent storylines for the Dream Team of characters. She writes so vividly I'm beginning to feel like I might have moved into the beautiful Bellissimo Resort & Casino. Also, I'm just a little tired. Davis has had me running all over that Casino & throughout more backwoods Alabama towns in pursuit of truth, virtue and justice. More than anything, I'm exhausted thinking about having to live in the "New Orleans Haunted House" that the former Casino Manager's wife so cleverly decorated. That place was a death trap in oh so many ways. Another extraordinarily funny and entertaining book with lots of intertwining stories to keep you on your toes.

Double your fun! Wise-cracking Davis Way is back again for another wild & crazy adventure. The story begins with Davis, "lead investigator on an undercover team" for the Bellissimo Casino & recent newlywed, trying to keep an insane wedding from imploding. From there the action never slows down. From missing people, counterfeit money, a malfunctioning monstrosity of a refrigerator, & a psycho cat, Davis never sleeps! Double Mint is the fourth book in the Davis Way series. With its eccentric cast of characters & fast-paced plot, this book draws you in & makes it impossible to put down. It is a rare combination of suspense, humor, & mayhem. Gretchen Archer always delivers a great read!

Gretchen Archer continues fun streak with her most recent "Davis Way" mystery, "Double Mint". Her imaginatively descriptive "Double" play on phrases suit the individual books, which can stand alone, but I advise reading the series straight through. These are truly top-of-the-genre mysteries with wit and a unique voice. Gretchen Archer writes with flair, making the reader think, laugh, and occasionally, cry, but not for long. These are books for adults with adult themes, but Archer has not succumbed to the temptation of writing explicit sex scenes; her writing doesn't need it. I highly recommend the series to anyone.

Double Mint written by Gretchen Archer seemed to start a little slow for me, but I didn't want to not read it, and I was glad that I didn't give up on it. I wish now that I would have been able to start the series with the 1st book, instead of the 4th. The main character, Davis Way Cole, is employed by Bellissimo Casino in Biloxi, Ms. Davis is a newlywed whose husband Brad also works there as the General Manager. This means that Brad is not only Davis' husband, he is also her boss, and also the one that people go to when Davis gets in trouble, not that he has much luck with that. Factor in a missing Special Events Coordinator, a convention of 500 bankers, the wife of the casino owner, who is not playing with a full deck, living in a suite that people think is haunted, and a cat who seems possessed and it's no wonder that Brad can't keep things in hand. FTC Full Disclosure - A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

I have been waiting for this book to come out, so as soon as it hit Netgalley, I grabbed it. There was an announcement at the end of book 3, Double Strike that I need to follow up on. Bradley Cole, Davis' brand new husband had just become her boss at the casino. I just knew there was going to be some repercussions from this. Not so much for them as a couple, but now they are living in the casino, in the former manager's suite, while Bradley works 60+ hour weeks. A suite has some serious decorating and appliance issues. The book actually starts several months down the road from the end of Double Strike. It's summer, which means weddings/convention season at the casino. Bianca is doing some extensive traveling/shopping internationally and No Hair is busy with the new casino being built in northern Mississippi. Mostly Davis and her posse have been lounging pool side, just doing the occasional job. That is, until the Hello Kitty Wedding from Hell Fiasco that causes the Events Coordinator to walk off the job. Davis has to step into the position and keep things running for the Alabama bankers convention and check up of the casino's vault. And so begins the chaos, conspiracy theories, plots, counterplots and hey look, more jail time. I have to say, I laughed so hard during this book, I almost had an asthma attack. My nephew came in to tell me something, and I was laughing so much, he couldn't help but laugh with me. I tried to explain why I was laughing, but every time I would try and tell him why it was funny, I would break down into more giggles. Most of the gang was present, or at least mentioned. There is even the possibility of a new member for their crew. Once again the story ended on an unexpected announcement, that had me laughing and sighing and wondering just how soon the next book will be out. This was totally another 5 star read. I just love this series. Thanks to Netgalley and Henery Press for the opportunity to read and review the book.
