Down Comes the Rain by Franklyn M. Branley, Mary Ann Fraser

After rain comes down, the sun comes out and dries the puddles. But the water isn't gone. The heat from the sun has turned it into water vapor-it has evaporated. Eventually, this moisture in the air condenses to form new clouds. Soon the rain will fall again. Read on to find out all the ups and downpours of the water cycle!

Down Comes the Rain is a great book to use when teaching students about the water cycle. It discusses the different types of precipitation, different types of clouds, and the steps of the water cycle itself. I used this with my 1st grade class and it could be used with classes all the way up to 5th grade. I would recommend this as a teaching resource to all elementary teachers!
