About the Author

Rodica Iova is a Romanian author and illustrator living in Southern California. As a long time elementary teacher and a mother of four children, she invested her life stories in her students and children, teaching them the value of being noble people.
Before moving to the United States, Rodica Iova published three children books, four novels and two poetry books in her native Romanian language. She wrote many inspirational articles, and columns about parenting and education for magazines in Romania and for Romanians in diaspora in Austria and Moldavia. She has made appearances on radio talk shows and TV, talking about being a mother, a teacher and a writer at the same time. "Down the Chimney Penguin Joe" is Rodica's second children's book in English, and her first as an illustrator.
