This diet plan is easy to understand and effective. Dr. Gott explains why sugar and flour should be eliminated and, then, provides a detailed listing of all of the foods that are permitted. I have followed the diet for four weeks and am very pleased with the results thus far. I have been on numerous diets since 1986. However, this is by far the easiest diet I have ever been on. My cravings for sweets and other junk food disappeared after the first two weeks. My blood sugar has stabilized. But, most importantly, I do not feel deprived nor hungry. In addition, I have been able to convert many of my favorite recipes to accommodate this diet. I highly recommend this book without reservation. However, I do suggest that the Cookbook be purchased at the same time. The recipes are delicious - who ever thought banana bread could be made without flour! But, more importantly, the Cookbook provides additional information about the diet and provides a better understanding of how to adapt other recipes to this plan.

Thank God for Dr. Gott! His method is easy to follow, down to earth...and it WORKS! I am buying several copies to give to friends, that's how strongly I feel that Dr. Gott is really on the right track, especially for type-2 diabetics such as myself, or anyone struggling with a weight problem who is insulin resistant.

Pretty boring book with no new or useful information. I felt it wasted my money restating the obvious and expounding unnecessarily a very simple one trick idea. Then padded the book with pages of recipes at the back. No inspiration or helpful ideas here.

Good info, but not overwhelmed. Have read other books with same info. Wish it had better recipes.
