About the Author

I was just nine years old when I discovered my passion for the paranormal world. That passion led me to a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts where I had my first taste in writing, conjuring children’s plays and re-writing Shakespearean masterpieces to suit the modern times (Yes, he’s still cringing in his grave). After years travelling around the world, translating other people’s novels and devouring paranormal romances, I realized the real world wasn’t fun without a touch of magic, and decided to purge my own crazy stories into paper, well, into word doc, to be more precise. My busy life with a demanding full time job and a very loving husband (I’m so not complaining!) doesn’t allow me much spare time, but somehow every night I find myself in front of the computer, exorcising the millions of stories stored in my sanity-challenged mind. My novels are tales of love and passion between strong female leads and hot heroes, bathed in paranormal magic, of course. I live in Sydney, Australia, the land of koalas (that are not bears), kangaroos (that are not boxing champions) and Vegemite (a black spread that should have never been invented. Seriously, don’t try it). If you want to know what I’m up to, just find me on www.facebook.com/ellaj.phoenix

Zoricah rescues the vampire prince Tardieh who is being held prisoner and tortured. Two hundred years later she needs him to help her rescue women (human, vampire, and draco) who are being kidnapped and used in experiments. He does not trust her feeling that she killed his father but he's not entirely sure about her past and his father. He knows he's attracted to her. I enjoyed this book. The world building is good and this sets up the series very well. A glossary is provided at the beginning but I wish Ms. Phoenix would have explained the terms as they occurred the first time in the story as well. I had to rely too much on my memory of what some of the terms meant. I liked the characters. Zoricah and Tardieh are astute and wise. They try to figure out why the other is doing what he/she is doing. They try to outmaneuver each other but their attraction gets in the way. I liked the teams they have around them. It seems each will have a story to tell. They are all strong characters. The story was done well. I like how the world is built throughout this first story. The rules are set out. There is a language and mythology set up for this world. It will be interesting to see where the story and the world goes from here. The bad guys always seem to be a step ahead of Zoricah and Tardieh and their people. Hopefully they will soon be ahead of the bad guys.

Book exchanged for an honest review~ Tardieh has been captured struggling to hang on until he's rescued. He doesn't hold out much hope of that happening either but he couldn't be more wrong. What appears to be a slave girl gives Tardieh his chance to escape. Zoricah, Draconian Demigoddess, works to rescue Tardieh to end the war between both of their kind. Zoricah tries to extract a promise from Tardieh but he denies it. Flash Forward to the present day, someone is taking female dragons and vampires for unknown purposes. Tardieh, is King of the Vampires has learned his lessons well in trusting people around him. When he receives a message from Zoricah sit up and take notice. Tardieh believes that Zoricah responsible for his father's death and won't listen to reason otherwise. Will Tardieh listen to Zoricah? Is Zoricah deny her feelings for Tardieh? Your answers await you in Dragon Heat. This new to me author presented such an unique world that plays out in ours. The story and characters were raw, honest, real, smokin' hot, compelling, and intriguing too. Definitely looking forward to the next book Vampire Thirst. Until then Happy Reading!
