As the third book in the "Age of Fire" series, "Dragon Outcast" is every bit as entertaining as the first two. My favorite element of these books is that you see the world through the eyes of dragons, and Knight does an excellent job of evoking the true nature of the beast - they're not just creatures with 'human' thoughts and perceptions. This series is a wonderful addition to any sci-fi/fantasy library!

If you liked this series, you might also enjoy "Joust" by Mercedes Lackey and "Dragonflight" by Anne McCaffrey as both were excellent dragon books!

a great story about a dragon who looses his family, but later finds a new one. This book is one of a kind with thrilling fights, a gripping love story, and parts that almost made me cry. I will personaly continue to read for all time.

Is this okay for a ten year old? I love dragons and would love to read the series, but i'm wondering if it is appropriate for my age.

I read the first two books about a year ago, and was sad that the next ones weren't in my library, but then I found this. It is a fascinating book! I was curious as to how E E Knight could make the 'dragon outcast' a lovable character, but at the end I loved him! I recommend all the books in this series, even though I haven't yet completed the series. I know it will be fascinating.
